A Blogging Review

I enjoyed reading Beck's year in review post highlighting things that happened each month; so I'm stealing her idea...

Jan: We had another get together with fellow blogger Overwhelmed With Joy. It was fun seeing her again! I talked about Kayla's use of the word "sorry" - and she still does this!

Feb: I asked some questions that parents all over ask themselves. We discovered the fun of having a bean box at home!

Mar: It was my bloggiversary! Kayla had surgery for her 3rd set of tubes; and it was World Down Syndrome Day. I shared one of my most memorable moments - Kayla's birth story.

Apr: I blogged about magical moments. Along with magical moments are the times your kids nearly give you a heart attack - and Kayla is no exception as I found her missing from the house one day.

May: I participated in Blogging Against Disablism Day with this post on Hope and Normalcy. Kayla sang happy birthday to her daddy. Then she gave us all some fashion tips.

Jun: We went on a 3 week road trip and had some IRL get-togethers and met even more blogging buddies!

Jul: Oh happy day! I announced that Kyla was going to be a big sister! And my baby turned 4 years old.

Aug: Then it was my turn for a birthday. I did a follow up post to Hope and Normalcy to address a comment left by anonymous. As part of the Disability Carnival I posted 10 facts about Down syndrome.

Sep: A sad post indeed as Joe left for deployment and Kayla was missing her daddy. She lifted my spirits when I found out this clever thing she did at school one day.

Oct: Kayla and I had quite the adventure travelling to Roswell for the annual Buddy Walk! I shared some characteristics of Down syndrome- some Kayla has and some she doesn't. We had a fun time at Mesilla Valley Maze. Being Oct, and National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, I shared my story of finding out about Kayla's diagnosis. Oct is also National Domestic Violence Prevention Month and I shared my personal experience.

Nov: I decided that Joe was just a little bit spoiled while on his deployment. Kayla had her hopes dashed when she thought Joe was at his squadron's Thanksgiving luncheon.

Dec: So many of you responded to my request for sending Joe a card for the holidays! Joe had a celebrity encounter; including meeting Lance Armstrong. Then of course there was Christmas to finish out the year.

I'm looking forward to 2008 - my husband will be home, we'll be a family again. Our family will also grow by one in Feb (hopefully not March!), and my first born will be 5 years old and starting Kindergarten!

Happy New Year!

I loved reading about your year in review! And the story of Kayla's preschool adventure (moving her nametag) was awesome. Those problem solving skills make us proud as well.

Happy New Year to you my blogger friend! I've been out of commission for a while but now I'm back. :)

It doesn't look as though I'll be heading your way this month on business as I have the past 2 Januarys. Rats! Of course, that could change. I'll let you know if it does.

Many blessings to you and your family in 2008!
