Summer = Lots of Sunscreen

We've all heard how important it is to wear sunscreen ... year round, but especially in the summer. If we're going to be outside for any length of time I check off a list in my head:

have kids go to the bathroom
get shoes on
water bottles filled
grab hats
snacks
slather the sunblock on
It's quite a production to get out of the house. Almost as bad as going out in the snow!  I keep a few bottles of sunblock in a reusable bag in the closet for easy access and to grab-and-go.

I'm pretty good about making sure we put it on before we leave the house, but admit to not remembering to always reapply it if it's been a couple of hours. The Skin Cancer Foundation sates "reapplication of sunscreen is just as important as putting it on in the first place" and we should "reapply the same amount every 2 hours."

Neutrogena, the #1 dermatologist sun care brand, recently developed and introduced a new line of kids and adult sunblock products called Wet Skin Sunblock Spray. The sprays are available in 30, 50, 70, and 85. You can use the Wet Skin Sunblock sprays when you/your kids get out of the pool/beach and need to reapply ... without having to dry the skin off first. It is designed to be used directly on, and adhere to, wet skin. Using their patented Helioplex technology with unique waterproof technologies the product cuts through water forming a protective barrier on skin and provides superior sun protection from damaging UVA/UVB rays.

The sprays are waterproof and sweat proof, oil-free, and PABA-free.

We had a chance to try out the new sunblocks when we took a trip last week to Massanutten, VA. The kids have such a blast in the pool and that's all we kept hearing - are we going to the pool? The spray worked just as intended; I sprayed it on our wet skin and it rubbed right in and the most important thing - no one came home with any sunburns!

As much as my kids enjoyed their first visit to the beach last summer, I imagine we'll be spending a lot of time there this summer and the Wet Skin Sunblocks will be a staple in my beach bag! (You can save $2 when you register online).

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Neutrogena and received sunscreen and other Neutrogena products as a thank you for my participation.”
