SoyJoy Second Chances

I discovered SoyJoy bars soon after Kayla was diagnosed with Celiac disease. They are gluten-free and nutritious fruit bars so I was hopeful I had a new snack option for her. As gluten-free bars go there aren't many that Kayla will eat. Unfortunately she didn't care too much for the SoyJoy bars, and I tried more than once to offer them to her. She would take 1 or 2 bites and hand them back to me.

Lucas likes the bars and I didn't mind them myself, although they did seem a little dense and dry, the overall flavor wasn't too bad.

SoyJoy recently released the new SoyJoy bars which are fruitier and moister than before. I received samples in the new flavors of banana and blueberry and original strawberry flavor (they also come in apple walnut, berry, and mango coconut). Lucas still likes them and ate them right up. I liked the blueberry the best, it had a nice burst of blueberry flavor to it. Banana tasted like banana bread. They do taste fruitier and have a moister consistency than before; there is still a slight dry aftertaste, but not as much as the original.

So how did Kayla like them? She didn't get to taste the blueberry, she didn't care for the banana, but she did really like the strawberry. So now I know I can give her some variety in lunches by packing a strawberry SoyJoy bar in her bag.

In honor of second chances, SoyJoy is having a Second Chances Contest where you could win $1000. Just upload a short video, or story, explaining a time when you didn't make a great first impression, but with a second chance turned it in to a joyous ending.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SOYJOY and received samples of their nutritional bars to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

I've tried Soy Joy a few times.

They weren't so joyful.

My daughter, who eats rather healthy, took one bite and asked that she not have to eat it again.

I gave my sister one when she was pregnant. She couldn't stand it. (She was probably in her third trimester and eating well.)

Glad that Soy Joy is trying to reconfigure the product.
