Thanksgiving in Afghanistan

I know this is a long shot, but hey, sometimes you just never know who might be reading your blog, so I thought it was worth a shot.

Is there anyone out there who has any connection to the food service industry...along the lines of getting a bunch of turkeys to Afghanistan for Thanksgiving?

Joe and a bunch of guys over where he's at are trying to figure out how to have a decent Thanksgiving dinner.

Since there are multi-national forces there the dining hall puts together a small section for the US troops to have a Thanksgiving meal; but from what Joe heard about last year's meal it was just frozen, processed turkey breast slices. They would like to try and get some real turkeys over there this year, if they can.

So just in case someone out there knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone who might possibly be able to help out, or offer suggestions...I said I would throw this out there...cause you just never know!

Great idea, but I haven't any connections either. Maybe try contacting a local food chain directly? Good Luck and let us know how it goes. :)

No connections to food service, HOWEVER, I just e-mailed a friend in the PR department for my work. Hopefully we can do something. We are actually doing another Soldier Ride in a couple of weeks ;0)

Hmmm. I don't know, but I'm brainstorming. I'll pass along any information I get. Good luck!

Not an unreasonable request by any stretch. I hope that there is someone who knows someone.

Though I realize that it might seem to be a bit far fetched, but have you considered writing a letter to the President. He knows people. :)

Need a mom opinion...thinking about making my blog private what are your thoughts, are you nervous for info on your kids being on the web and their pictures. I have been kind of creeped out lately. I need other mom bloggers thoughts?

Trying again - not sure what happened with my first comment. ??

Found your site through another I visit. Wish I did have connections that would get you to your goal of real turkeys. I don't have that, but if you are looking for someone else to help send troops something I'd be game for that.
