Woodbine House

Woodbine House is a great resource for books on disabilities (they also have DVDs and CDs). They have books geared towards parents, teachers, children, and professionals.

The Special Needs products covers a wide range of topics such as Celiac Disease, Inclusion, Medical Issues, Post Secondary Options, Sensory Processing, Autism, and of course Down Syndrome (among many others).

A follow-up to the successful Gifts book is Gifts 2: How People With Down Syndrome Enrich The World.

If you're a new, or expecting, parent of a baby with Down syndrome you might be interested in the free download of the booklet What Parents Wish They'd Known: Reflections on Parenting a Child With Down Syndrome.

Since Oct is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month all Down syndrome-related topics are 20% off.

On my wish list:
- Helping Children with Down Syndrome Communicate Better
- Teaching Math to People with Down Syndrome and other Hands-On Learners
- We'll Paint the Octopus Red

Michelle, I accidentally purchased two copies of the "Teaching Math..." book. I got it a million years ago when I thought I needed to read everything RIGHT NOW! Haha, how silly.

Anyway, if you email me your address, I would be thrilled to send you my extra copy. Then you can let me know if there are good tips in there for when I need them down the road.

:)
