Earlier this year I posted about Verizon's Hopeline Program.
Since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month I wanted to highlight the Hopeline program again.
A recap of the program:
HopeLine collects old wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider. Proceeds from the program are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.
Verizon recently announced the first phone to support domestic violence awareness and prevention. The Nokia 2705 Shade is the first Verizon Wireless phone to come pre-programed with #HOPE in the contact list. #HOPE connects directly to the National Domestic Violence hotline.

Thanks for posting about this. There are certainly folks out there that can benefit from what they do.
I never knew you experienced that. But I will agree that I said the same thing. Why don't those lady's just leave. But you can't say what you would do unless you were in that situation.

That's a great program. I read your story. I have a story of my own, so I feel very strongly about programs to help women in that kind of situation.
Such a good cause! As a victim of domestic violence in a previous relationship, I know it is sorely needed.
