There are some great programs out there for recycling your old cell phone for a good cause and here is another one: Verizon Wireless' HopeLine Program.
HopeLine collects old wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider. Proceeds from the program are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.
There are two ways to donate a phone to HopeLine:
- Drop off your phone at any Verizon store.
- Print a postage-paid mailing label.
These cell phones can mean hope and new beginnings to a survivor of domestic violence, instead of becoming another piece of electronic waste in a landfill.
Won't you consider donating your old cell phone?

Thank you!!! I've got one sitting in a drawer I've been holding on to, just waiting to find out a good cause to donate it to. I'll drop it off Monday.
Thank you! We also have a phone to recycle, too.
Thats great, I have like 5 old cell phones I need to get rid of, thanks for the idea!
Hey thanks for the belated wishes!
Love T
Cool, thank!! That's fun!
Currently all our old phones go the girls as yet another toy phone. :) Will have to keep this in mind.
If I can scramble the old ones away from the kiddos, I'll turn them in. lol!
I have a bag of old phones that I have been looking to donate--just dropping them off at a Verizon store couldn't be easier.
