Black and White

When Kayla was 9 months old I took some pictures the old fashioned way (not using a digital!) and with black and white film.

I didn't finish the roll right away and put the camera up, essentially forgetting about the film. I didn't finish that film until she was 27 months old! (I took hundreds of pictures of her during those 18 months - they were just with our old digital camera.)

I didn't develop that black and white film until last week!

I knew I had that film, I knew I wanted to develop it to finally see how the pictures turned out (I had only used B&W film once before when I was in high school), but I just kept forgetting to have it developed.

It sure was a neat to finally have the roll developed and see the images after a few years! The scanned images don't look as great as the actual printed images I have, but look at my baby!

I don't know what she was reaching for, but I like this picture:

Here she is with Jake - he was born 3 days after Kayla.

Here is a color photo from the photo shoot that day. Ian was born a month after Kayla (look at my pipsqueak! She was so small compared to those boys!). We thought it would be fun to dress our kiddos alike and get some pictures of them. Ian's family was moving that month, and Jake's family moved 2 months later. Too bad these 3 couldn't have been growing up together, but that's what happens when you're in the military!

I LOVE the B&W pictures! Sometimes new technology isn't always the best.

I love those reminders of the past! What a beautiful little girl. I, too, like the one where she's reaching the best.

I love them! I love the three of them all together too. I always wished I knew someone with kids Kallie's age when she was younger so she could grow up with someone other than her sister.

cute pictures! I have a roll like that, thanks for the reminder! I need to go get it developed soon! I'm waiting anxiously with you my friend! I hope we'll get a quick post before you jet to the hospital, but maybe that's wishful thinking. I can be patient and wait for baby pictures. It really is so exciting when someone doesn't already know the sex! Of course that doesn't change my desire to find out what we're having at our 20 week:).
Love, Sarah

I am a sucker for B&W pics! I have a fantastic one of Jeremy and Gabi when Gabi was about 2 years old that I have to find and post one day. I always think about it, but never get around to finding it.

Oh how sweet. I love the b/w's. It is a shame they couldn't grow up together, but it's great to have those pics of the 3 of them.

Shooting B&W is one of my favorite hobbies. I don't have a scanner so it's hard to share pictures with family and friends. But I have an album full as well. I carry around my clunky old still camera when we go on hikes/walks outside. Thank you for sharing I was just tickled to see Kayla when she was a baby. Hope you are feeling OK. We are off to Florida so I hope to hear some news when we return. We'll be praying for you. PS. I'm glad Kayla like her Valentine's card from Noah.
