In The Motherhood, Series Two

Last year I did a post about In The Motherhood - For Moms. By Moms. About Moms. It was the first-ever web series films starring Leah Remini. The story lines were from moms around the country who shared their real-life mom experiences and had them turned into mini-shows.

Jenny McCarthy joins Chelsea Handler and Leah Remini for Season Two of In The Motherhood.

See if you can identify with the latest webisode - Valentine's Day - especially taking kids clothes shopping with you!

Wouldn't you like to see your own motherhood story turned into a webisode? Starting on Feb 21 you can submit your own stories, vote on stories, and watch as the winning submissions are turned into new episodes (and there are prizes for the winning entries too!)

So yeah, I'm still pregnant! Should I even bother mentioning at my appt on Mon the midwife said I was now 75% effaced and she believes I'll go into labor this week? It's Wed and I'm not really feeling anything happening yet -this kid must be really comfortable and not want to come out!

She mentioned stripping my membranes, I thought about it, but chickened out. Maybe next week if I'm still pregnant. Praying I'm not though!

What exactly IS stripping of the membranes? I've never even heard of it... I hope you have the baby this week, but I guess it's best to let him/her take his/her time and come when ready.
love you!

Michelle, as far along as you are I know Castor Oil would work. My midwife swore by it if you're at least 50% effaced and 2-3 cm dilated. Take about a tablespoon in a little soda, shake it together, and swallow. Give it about 12 hours and stay near a bathroom. Have your bag packed and Joe on the ready.

I always opted out of the stripping - our believe was the baby would come when he/she was ready - and our's both did!

Glad to get an update though - I was wondering...

Hang in there -
Beth

I have a feeling it's going to be this week, Michelle. 75% effaced - yep, I think it's going to be any minute now. :-)

I love watching the In the Motherhood series.

I had my membranes stripped with Logan - it sounds a lot worse than it is. Not anymore uncomfortable than a regular OB yearly check-up.

I hope the baby comes soon :)

Oooh, it hurts like hell! Don't do it. I did with both and it didn't work either time, as you know. ;-)

I'll have to check out those webisodes.

I had my membranes stripped with both girls. Hurt a LOT, but it worked with both of them. I went into labor the same day with Kayla and the next day with Alysa. With Kayla I had bene 80% effaced since 36 weeks and with Alysa I was barely effacing. Could have been coincidence too - you never know for sure...

LOL the only thing worse than being 39wks pregnant is being 41wks pregnant.

With me, stripping the membranes did not hurt a bit, I did not even know my OB had done it, until she already had. Of course, it didn't help either. Good luck!

The whole 'stipping membranes' doesn't sound good. I have never heard of it. I did hear the castor oil thing works. How long will they let you go? Maybe s/he's going to make a grand entrance on the most special day this year (the 29th). But that is 8 more days! Thinking of you. Theresa

I had this done with kid number two. It was NOT pain free, in fact it hurt quite a bit. I do not blame you for chickening out. They told me it would make me "uncomfortable".....they lied :)

Prayng for you, your family and baby!

With Love and Hope,

Jen-William's Mom
