Pretend Play

I love watching kids when they are playing by themselves. It's so neat to watch their little minds work and how they play with stuffed animals and baby dolls almost like "real" friends. Kids have such an imagination.

So I was just watching Kayla with her doll and a stuffed bear (which she received from her great-grandpa on her daddy's side when she was only 4 months old - and it's still in great shape!).

She placed each one on a chair at her play table and told them to "sit." She grabbed a book and put it on the table saying "read" and then realized she didn't have a place to sit. So she sat on the chair with the baby doll and she flipped through her book naming the different animals.

Then she noticed Mr Bear didn't have a book. She brought another book over to the table and set it up on his "lap" with the table helping to hold it up so he could read too. It was such a cute thing to watch so of course I had to take pictures.

And just one more because I like her eyes in this one

She has such a love for books...she practically has her own library in her bedroom!

Smart lil cookie, ya got there! Books are one of my most favorite "toys". And what a sweetie she is to make sure everybody has a book!

Ah, how cute! Love the pictures!

Snuggle Bug is all into books now and I love it! I've been nurturing a love of books for a long time now (since the day he was born) and now he's old enough to grab a book, sit down, and thumb through it. We keep a book in his crib and often times he'll look through it in the morning before wanting up. He's even been known to grab a book, grab my hand, and lead me to his rocking chair, signaling to me that it's story time.

Does Kayla have any favorite books yet? Snuggle Bug has a couple that he loves me to read every night.

When your mom and I are visiting you all we love to watch Kayla play! She is in her own little world doing what she sees her mom and dad do. How wonderful she is! Love, G-Aunt Debbie

Oh how adorable your Kayla is! How cute that she had to make sure her bear had a book too. You will be so happy you preserved this memory - so sweet.

Michelle- Snuggle Bug LOVES Sandra Boyton as well. One of his favorite's is his "La La La" book, otherwise known as "Moo, Baa, La La La."

I love, 'But Not the Hippopotamus".

I forgot about the "Moo, Baa, La La La" book! Kayla really likes that one as well. When we get to the pigs she yells "la la la la!" And at the end when it says and what do you say? we always go "ssshhhhhhh". If you don't have Sunggle Puppy yet I highly recommend that one!
