She Can Not Tell A Lie ... Or A Secret

Kayla and I were in her room when out of the blue she said to me, "No pens upstairs."

Me, "That's right." (she's not supposed to have any writing utensils upstairs because marks end up on more than just the paper).

Then she said, "I sneak a pen. I sneak a pen upstairs."

Me, "Where?"

Kayla, "In my dresser." She retrieved the contraband from its hiding place and gave it to me saying, "I'm sorry I sneak a pen upstairs."

I'm glad she knows how to tattle on herself!

Don't tell her something is a secret because she can't keep it a secret. The word 'secret' to her means she needs to tell that person the secret. But at least she whispers and says, "Shhh, it's a secret" before telling the secret.

This is so cute! That she knew she did wrong and told on herself. Her conscience got the best of her. :)

By the way, Beth is the same way. We can't tell her what we're buying others for their birthdays or Christmas... she will always tell! She just gets too excited.
