Something You Have Extras Of

Kayla receives a subscription to Highlights. After she is done with the magazine I tear out the "Brain Play" page. It has a list of random questions that gets us thinking, and sometimes thinking outside of the box.

I save these pages in a drawer and every once in a while will pull one out and we will take turns answering them while eating dinner.

One of the questions I read today was, "Name something you have extras of."

Before anyone could respond, or even have time to think about their answer, Kayla was on it in a heartbeat.

She immediately yelled out, "Extra chromosome!"

By far my favorite answer of hers from these Brain Play questions.

Own that extra chromosome and wear it proudly my darling daughter!

Got it? Flaunt it. As an autistic flutist, I love being different. I may not be the average person, but average is mundane and overdone. Good job, Kayla, on thinking that your extra chromosome is something extra that makes you special. I like blue eyes. Blue eyes are blue because blue is a longer wavelength that remains when other wavelengths undergo Rayleigh scattering.
