Special Exposure Wednesday

Since Kayla started school I never knew what I was going to get with her school pictures. I wasn't there to make sure she smiled, sat right, hair brushed etc. That was never more evident than one of her first preschool pictures where she had a runny nose.

Since then she's had a mixture of 'didn't like' and 'like/love' it pictures. The first school pic from first grade was a 'didn't like' and I sent it back for retakes. I loved the retake picture and was so happy wit it! I thought she looked adorable with all 4 of her front teeth missing and a genuine smile!

Then she had the spring pictures (why are there 2 sets of pictures anyway? I don't remember taking pictures two times throughout the school year.)

When she got home from school and I saw that telltale school picture envelope in her back pack I did what I've been accustomed to doing - I held my breath before turning it over. I can't help it. I just have no idea how she's going look for her school picture; especially since she started perfecting a very obvious non-smile by clenching her teeth together.

So when I turned over the envelope and saw her picture through the window I admit I gasped a little bit. I know I'm biased because I'm her mom and all ... but I just thought it was such a beautiful picture of her. She looks more mature somehow. And compared to the earlier school picture you can see her teeth growing in :) Now I don't know which picture I like better!

That's a GORGEOUS picture!! Beautiful, beautiful Kayla. :-) Samantha cries on picture day, and we are always ready for a good laugh when those envelopes come home. Hope that changes soon...

I've yet to see a bad pic of Kayla, is that possible???? But that one is a KEEPER! So beautiful! I don't usually expect too much from school pics, but whoever took that one did a great job.

Awwwww..... :)

Julianna's the cutest kid ever in motion, but it can be tough to catch her in a still shot looking like she really looks. I feel bad sometimes, but I don't want all these pictures of her hanging around where her DS is obvious--because that isn't how she looks in reality. Sometimes I feel like a terrible, bigoted parent for saying that, but it really is just b/c it's DIFFERENT from how she looks in action. Does anyone else find that?

She looks so pretty and yes, more grown up. Time passes so fast each minute is precious :)

Aww, she does look more mature (which makes me realize how fast she's growing up) but she's as beautiful as always.

It is a gorgeous picture. I can absolutely see why you loved it so. And yes, I do remember the runny nose picture from preschool. I admit that I recall it so well because you asked on the blog something to the effect of why couldn't they see she needed to wipe her nose, or something like that. I thought it was so little kid, but so mom to know that I would think the same thing! Thank goodness no runny nose in this one! HOORAY!

That IS a great pic! Looking at the camera is something my girls just will NOT do. I also am dreading school pics in our years to come...

She looks very grown up, and not fake, just relaxed and owning the photo shoot! :o)
