Colonial Dorchester

Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site is another place we visited using the Be A Tourist pass.

Our kids are too young to care that this was a town that existed during the Revolutionary War, but Joe and I found it interesting :) There isn't a lot left from the town - the bell tower from St Joseph's Angelican Church and the walls of a fort (made from oyster-shell concrete). They still enjoyed getting out, running around, and walking down to the river's edge.

Inside the walls of what is left from the fort
The bell tower from the church

We found this tree that was pretty much hollowed out in the inside.

It was so funny that all we could see of Kayla were her legs!

May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, dear Michelle:-)

Now that's the kind of place I'd love to visit, so much history behind it. Love the pictures, both kids look so cute in that tree:-) xoxo

Sounds really cool! I love the pics and CANNOT believe that the kids are growing so quickly! I know I say that every time I stop over, but seriously, where has the time gone! ;)
