Candy Land Giveaway

The winner, picked via Random.org is Emillie Rose- congrats!

Last week I mentioned that we went to a Special Needs Support Group meeting on base. Thanks to Hasbro via My Blog Spark we turned this in to "Family Game Night" with all the families playing Candy Land. We enjoyed pizza and ice cream to round out the night.

It was a fun night to have the families come together and play Candy Land with their kids, to mingle with the other families, and share resources and information with the other families as well. It was a great way to unwind as it was nearing the end of the week. All of the families went home with their own Candy Land game to keep.

(Kayla and the older brother of the 2 babies with Down syndrome who were just adopted from Ukraine)

I remember playing Candy Land as a kid; I think it's a timeless game that can be passed on from generation to generation. It's recommended for ages 3+up (Lucas enjoyed playing it too)... and its been redesigned with new 'destinations' to discover.

Hasbro and My Blog Spark provided me with the 'party pack' full of Candy Land games to give away during the Family Game Night, a gift card, and a Flip camera to capture the fun. I also have one Candy Land for a giveaway to a reader.

If you'd like to win please leave a comment on this post - do you remember playing this game as a child? Please make sure I have a way to contact you if you are the winner.

I loved this game as a kid. I actually went to pull it out of the game closet this weekend to play with my youngest - only to discover that we no longer have it. It would be great to win this so I could play with him!

I love CandyLand! Chutes and Ladders is another favorite, and I love finding the vintage packaging that reminds me of playing at my grandparent's house. I can't wait for my daughter to be able to play :)

I don't think we ever played it when I was a kid.

A few people have recommended the newish version, Candy Land Castle - have you played that?

I LOVED Candyland when I was a kid. And I was lucky enough to be the oldest of three, so I could play it with my siblings and not look "un-cool" to all of my friends. "Oh, no! I HATE Candyland. My mom and dad MAKE me play with my brother and sister. YUCK!"
