Balancing

One of the gross motor skills Kayla has struggled with is balancing ... such as balancing on one foot. Several weeks ago I caught her hopping on one foot; wasn't even aware she could do that! Love it when she surprises me like that. Now to just get the concept of Hopscotch down!

What an accomplishment!!!! Every little accomplishment comes when the mind and the body work together when it is the "right time" Love the little giggle and the sense of "I did it" Love mom/grandma.. fun to see Lucas trying to achieve the same thing.. :)

It will all come if she keeps at it. It's always amazing to me how Kayli just perseveres at something she wants to do- she'll just keep at it. Now she can jump rope with one foot and skip and on and on- practicing using a pogo stick while she jumps rope! Thanks for sharing- that smile is the best!

Yay! Would Twister help practice balance? Just wondering.

Hey Michelle, just found your blog and wanted to let you know your girl is gorgeous. How old is she? Mine's nearly three - can't wait til hopping's on the agenda - at the moment we're working on running (mostly away from Mommy!)

Yay Kayla! We have Bilibo that Goldie just started using to balance on. I didn't think she'd be able to, but surprise she can do it.

What a gorgeous video - and fabulous hopping! Hannah loves jumping but hasn't been able to master hopping yet - she can sometimes balance on one leg - and LOVES the hopscotch markings at school. The big kids indulger and always give her a clap when she jumps it. Lovely to see Lucas copying too - exactly what little brothers are meant to do.

Congrats Kayla!!!

I was wondering the same way too, @Mom24.

I think the game twister would help children to be more competent in their balancing skills!
