After a year and a half of being separated from Joe, we're almost all back together again under one roof. It wasn't without a couple delays, but moving day is fast approaching for us!
First we thought we were going to move in the middle of June after Kayla finished school, but we bought a house and couldn't close until the end of June.
Then the movers couldn't deliver our stuff until Jul 8th.
So we're still in MD but will all be in SC by the end of this weekend.
Which means it's a stressful, crazy, emotional time for me right now. Trying to get all the stuff organized and packed and purged and donated. Separate the stuff going in the van and leaving for the movers to pick up. Oh, and keeping two kids entertained and trying to have fun in the midst of all that.
I've never been good at goodbyes and the one coming up with my mom is going to be tremendously hard. I know we're saying goodbye because the kids and I are going to be with Joe and we'll be a family again, but my mom has been such a big help during this deployment. Not having her around is going to take some getting used to.
Hopefully the rest of this week goes smoothly and we'll be all settled in to our new house before long.
Although we won't have a lot of time to get settled because we'll soon be on our way to Orlando for the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention! Can't wait to meet up with whoever is going to be there!

Good luck with everything! I know EXACTLY what you're going through (minus the saying goodbye to my mom part...). Doing this all without childcare is very interesting. We move August 1st and I am in the process of trying to figure out what movers will take and what I will take in my van. Yikes. It's going to come fast! I hope you are happily settled soon, won't it feel great to settle into your own home!
Oh I'm so excited for you to big a family again! Yipee!!
Oh good luck with it all- sounds incredibly overwhelming but you are a trooper! Kudos to you and your Mom for making it all work!
I'm not going to the conference but look for a Mom Amy with daughter Olivia who comes from VT!
Good luck with the big move! I wondered when it was coming up!
How exciting for all of you!
Thinking of you Michelle. I'm sorry that it has to be so hard. I'm not good about change....so I can feel your pain. I'll be sending good vibes your way.
Best of luck Michelle. I can only imagine all the emotions you're feeling. I know it's got to be awfully hard for your mom too. I hope you love South Carolina and that you all have a quick, pain-free adjustment.
beautiful pictures from the fourth! so happy that you will all be living together in your new home soon - but i can imagine how hard it will be to not have your mom there with you! good luck with all of the stresses of moving!
I hope y'all have a safe trip! Welcome to SC!
We are an Army family who has been here in HI for 9 years. We are moving back to Ft. Lewis WA next month so I know what you are going through. Good bye's are hard and I am not looking forward to them. I hope you have a great move and make the adjustment quickly. If you can survive deployment you can survive anything. My hubby got back fro Iraq this past Dec. and I'm not looking forward to any more time away form him.
Oh wow, you need a BIG HUG! Praying the move goes smoothly.
Blessings on the move. Goodbyes are no fun but how wonderful to have had all that time with your mom.
Best of luck with everything change is often hard - even when it is for the good.
It was great to see you while you were here! I'm so happy for you guys to all be together again!
I'm sorry you have to say good-bye to your mom but happy your family will be back together! Good luck and I hope the move went smoothly!!
