The Birthday Boy

Lucas had a very low-key birthday on Tuesday. I'm thinking of having a little birthday party for him at the end of March when Joe will be here before he heads to Charleston.

Most of the day was spent just hanging out with me! I like getting that one-on-one time with him though; especially since I was able to have that with Kayla when she was younger.

First he had his 2 yr well-child appointment. He is so different at dr appointments then Kayla is - complete opposite! He sits perfectly still while they do whatever to him whereas Kayla doesn't like anyone doing anything to her!

After the check-up we went to IHOP for free pancakes.



And look at that - my kid is a righty. Funny since Joe, Kayla, and I all eat with our left hand. Silly boy :)

Then some of the waiters came out with a bowl of ice cream and sang to Lucas. He didn't know what to make of all these people standing around singing to him and half buried his head in my arm. Once they left he happily dug in to his ice cream.


Next we went to Toys R Us where he got a balloon and a birthday crown and had his birthday announced on the intercom. Then we walked around looking at everything and he picked out a couple things for himself.


After dinner we had left over gluten-free cake I made for Kayla so she could have cake at a birthday party we went to on Sunday.




Finally he opened a few presents.


His main present is a train table set but I haven't given it to him yet. Haven't decided if I want to give it to him Friday when my sister comes over, or wait until March when Joe is here!
