My Dad's Update

A quick update on my dad's fight with pancreatic cancer.

- They were having trouble with his veins so a couple weeks ago he had a port put in; said this helped a lot with chemo.

- He was hospitalized for extreme abdominal pain of which they found no exact cause. He's had the pain off and on still but not enough to be hospitalized again - very frustrating.

- The antibiotic pill he took to counter another pill he's taking caused dry heaves, fever, and a bad nose bleed. Basically he felt like crap.

- Then he started having trouble with his left foot falling flat when he walks (instead of falling heel to toe) so now they are scheduling an MRI of his brain.

- His blood work for CA19 (cancer marker) finally went down, which was good news as it had been going up.

- He has an MRI scheduled for today - we are praying results will show the chemo has been working and the tumors will have shrunk.

Thanks for continued prayers for my dad.

Thank you for the update. We wish that it was a better update, but the numbers went down, so that is good! Wish he felt better.

I am so thinking of you and your dad. I am sorry to hear that he is having a lot of pain. It is heartbreaking isn't it? My mom is not even at the chemo stage yet. She is having a bile stent put in this week as she is jaundiced. My mom may not do the chemo route. Anyways feel free to private email me if you like since we are on this journey together. Hoping and praying for good news for you dad and the CA counts. Please let me know how it goes. Is your dad doing any/or will do any alternative therapies?
Take care of yourself and tell your dad we are thinking of him and to hang in there.
