Life When You're Deployed

The snow on the mountains are from back in Feb, when he first arrived in country.

Boxes upon boxes filled with bottled water

Mail (or morale!) call

Recreation = volleyball

A "holding area" when you're in between flights/destinations

Scenes from a suicide car bomber (picking up debris)

The blast shattered the glass on the back window of this bus

The 'landscape' that I can see reflected in Joe's glasses reminds me of New Mexico!

The snow is amazing. The landscape seems so grim. I'm thankful he's staying safe. I appreciate all of your sacrifices.

Five more months? Almost?

That sure makes it all seem so much more real. I will be so glad when he is home again - I can't even imagaine how you will feel. You are one day closer today than you were yesterday!

Amazing photoes. I bet you'll be glad when he is home safely. I'll include that in my prayers - and for some semblance of peace in the region too.

Photos, I have no words, but I am praying that all the soldiers come home safe and healthy from this. God Bless you.

Makes me appreciate my home just that much more. Michelle did Joe take all of those pictures? I'm praying to God that he didn't take the ones of the aftermath with the fire in the background!

Wow, what a perspective, thanks for sharing. Words cannot express how much I admire you and your family for what you sacrifice!

Thank you Michelle for posting these photos. I wish all Americans could get this vantage point--the reality of what being over there is like on a day to day basis. The landscape, the recreation, something as ordinary as boxes filled with water juxtaposed against scenes from a suicide bomber. Continued prayers for all our servicemen and women, but especially for yours!

Wow, Michelle, those pics were amazing. Thanks for sharing a little bit of what Joe is seeing and experiencing over there.

I still need to send him a care package!

Thank you so much for the small glimpse into Joe's daily life. The service your family is giving our country is appreciated more than words can express. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

This is extraordinary -- to see where Joe is, and the landscape, and what is going on. I imagine that it is bittersweet to see the pictures, for you. Wishing for the next five months to fly by!

It's seeing pictures like these that make us realize just what these men have to deal with day in and day out. Not only do these men make sacrifices but so do their families and for that you have my utmost respect.

Make sure you come by my blog today, you're there dressed up as a little faerie! hehe xoxo
