30 Days To Natural

Sometimes I find it a little daunting to "go green" - I know some of the basics about recycling, and changing light bulbs, using non-toxic cleaners and eating more natural/organic foods, but it can at times seem overwhelming too.

So when Mom Central had a blog tour for the 30 Days To Natural site I wanted to sign up! Something that would make it easy to start going green!

When you "plant a daisy" and sign up you can elect to receive tips - for 30 days they will send you a tip and these are easy tips to implement too!

I've been wanting to start using non-toxic cleaners too, but I mostly shop on base and we don't have a wide variety of selections here (although they are getting better!) The Commissary and BX both carry the Clorox Green Works products which is great...something I can find and is affordable! The Natural All Pupose Cleaner works great on counter tops, stoves, bathroom fixtures, etc. It has a nice, light scent - I don't like a cleaner to overpower me with the scent!

Next on my list is getting one of these bags - for every bag purchased Clorox makes a donation to the Sierra Club.

It is daunting to go green, isn't it? Thanks for these ideas.

We are trying to go green and it's really not that easy. We are making baby steps and we are probably "olive with brown streaks" right now. At least we started recycling (but I hate that I have to drive it to the recycling center). I love the Clorox all purpose cleaner. Method leaves streaks on my counters and I can't always find "Seventh Generation".

I really like the Clorox Green Works as well and even prefer it's "cleaning power" to less earth friendly cleaners. I have also found a great generic cleaner that seems fab also! I find vinegar to work quite well for many applications. I use it to mop my wood floors with just a touch of earth friendly dish soap. I use it in the dishwasher to get water stains off the glasses. Soak things in vinegar to get the gunk off. etc...

I think we just need to change our mindsets that earth friendly doesn't mean less effective.

I bought reusable bags on Amazon last year, and then I bought another set ... and then my mom gave me some. I have about a dozen now, and I don't know what I did before them! I actually remember to use them now, and they're just wonderful. We use them for shopping, library, outings, ANYTHING.

I need more ideas - thanks for the link!

You don't have to buy "green" cleaners!

Just mix up some white vinegar and water in a spray bottle for glass cleaner. It works pretty well as all-purpose cleaner, too. If in need to scrub, I used lemon juice and baking soda.
