Monday Miscellany

Just a few odds and ends that I wanted to share...

I was over at The Opinionated Parent and saw this review for Leonardo Music. His younger brother has Down syndrome and autism and "throughout his career Leonardo has been a musical advocate for children with special needs." How have I not heard of him before now?! His tour dates even showed he was in Boston for the NDSC Convention and I totally missed that! If you'd like a chance to win his latest children's/family CD, just leave a comment at The Opinionated Parent by Sep 3rd.

I previously posted on these high-quality personalized children's books from I See Me

Personalized Children's Books. Click here!

and how much we enjoy reading the two books Kayla has. The books spell out your child's name (first and last) letter by letter on each page. Now that she's in Kindergarten and really focusing on spelling her name we're going to be reading these every day! I was excited to see they have some new products too - The World According To Your Child Book Kit & My Very Own Name Floor Puzzle. I just wanted to mention this site again since we're in back-to-school mode and maybe some other Kindergartener could benefit from these keepsake books.

I know I write here in my blog, but I don't consider myself a writer, I'm not talented like that. But, I know there are a lot of you out there I would consider as very talented writers and Field Report is for you. You publish your true stories anonymously, or publicly, and you could win monetary prizes. They are looking for first-person, non-fiction stories, and you don't have to be a professional writer either. There are $1000 monthly prizes in 21 categories and the grand prize is $250,000! The best part? The winners are chosen on by the Field Report community. Maybe I'll start honing my writing skills and submit a story after all...and iIf you submit any of your writing pieces let me know so I can go read it!

During the bloggy giveaway carnival I won a big tote bag full of Let's Go Green products (the glass cleaner and walnut sponge are great!) from Heather at A Mama's Blog. I was really impressed with this company before I even used any of the products. My packing slip had a personal note from the founder because he noticed my military address. Thank you Kyle! And thank you Heather for holding that giveaway.

Want some free chicken strips? Chick-Fil-A is giving away free chicken strips TODAY only. Visit any participating Chick-fil-A restaurant wearing your favorite football team’s attire or logo on Labor Day, Sept. 1, 2008, from 10:30 a.m. until close and get one free order of our new Chick-n-Strips (3-count). Limit one order per person while supplies last. Too bad we don't have one near us!

Lastly, it's not Friday, but I don't know how long this freebie will be available so I wanted to share it. This is for Canada and US: Get a free size 3 diaper from Seventh Generation (Lucas is in size 3, so perfect for us!).

Whew! I think that's enough linky love for one post!

I've seen these books and always liked them. I've put them on the list for X-mas for the girls. Which one does Kayla have besides the main one? I like the puzzle too. I may also get it for my girlfriend's daughter for Christmas.

:)

We have an "I See Me" book and it is just so sweet. We got it as a gift when the Little Man was born and I've given it as a gift several times since. I just love them!

I'm glad you like the products from Lets Go Green. Isn't Kyle great? When I sent him your address, he was excited to see you were on a military base- he has spent some time in the military as well, and I believe he said he had even been on your base!

Enjoy your green products. :-)
