Grains of Gratitude

Things I'm grateful for from the past week include:

1. Kayla had a good time at the Daisies meeting on Friday. They only meet every other Fri after school, but I worried how she would do by the end of the school week...if it would make too long of a day for her. She didn't want to sit in the circle when we first got there, but after that she was ok, so I'm glad she's having fun.

2. I'm grateful the local Chamber of Commerce hosts a "Thank You" party every year for the base. They serve up free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, ice cream, beer, soda, and water. There are bouncy castles for the kids and door prizes. We went on Fri and then Joe stayed w/the kids when I went to Bunco.

3. Kayla picked out our 3 tickets for the door prizes and picked 2 winners. We won 2 packages of cookies (umm, cookies? ok I guess!) It worked out because I took them with me to Bunco :) The 2nd prize was a $25 gift card to Lowe's - go Kayla! LOL

4. Yesterday we decided to go to the NM Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and it turned out to be a nice day to visit.

Playing dress up with the hats:

Learning how to grind corn:

Lucas wanted to check out the corn too; he liked to grab handfuls of it. I was worried he would put his hand immediately to his mouth, but he was just interested in holding the corn:

Helping me grind the corn:

They had this fun play room...Lucas enjoyed the see-saw:

and Kayla thought it was the neatest thing:

Enjoying the nice weather:

View of the Organ mountains:

The highlight for Kayla was watching a cow being milked. That's all she talked about on the way home! She kept asking to see the cow; I told her we already did and we were going home now. Her response? "No home! A cow!"

Hope you had a great week too!

Looks like you had a great time!!

And yes, my hubby is a huge Red Sox/Patriots fan! He's been one all his life. Mike's Mom picked that hat up for Logan when she was recently in Boston - she also bought Noah a bib that read's "Red Sox fan" on it :)

I got your package with baby clothes today, thank you! Sawyer should be able to wear all of them, some now and some in a couple months. You're so sweet to send them to me, I promise I'll put them to good use and pass them on to someone else when I'm done with them. I can't believe how big Lucus is now, it seems like only yesterday I was reading your blog post about his arrival.
Love, Sarah

The farm museum looks awesome. Glad you guys had so much fun. There's a farmstead near us that my 3 year old asks to go to nearly every day.
