If you have 4 minutes

please watch this video. It was made by Clara Sigmon, a 13 yr old, about her brother David, who has Down syndrome. It's called "Difference is an Artist's Game" - it is very powerful and well-written/spoken. I'm impressed that she is in 8th grade!

and if you have a couple extra minutes will you consider voting for this American Express Members Project? Reece's Rainbow is in the running for a $1.5 million grant which would cover $20,000 grants for 100 children in overseas orphanages who are waiting for their forever family to adopt them. It only takes a few minutes to register as a guest (if you don't have an AmEx card) and vote.

Michelle,

I just linked this video to my blog too. A may not have Down's Syndrome, but he, with his own handicaps is another of God's Picasso's. If this video makes it all around the internet, imagine how many hearts it can touch!

Thank you!

That is by far the most profound statement I have heard about acceptance of difference.

This was posted on the Down Syndrome Partnership Of Tarrant County message board today...I am so overwhelmingly impressed with the depth of your understanding of your brother with Down syndrome. I have a 2 year old son with Down syndrome and he is unique and beautiful in his own way, and now I can see him as a work of art as well! Your video brought tears to my eyes. You sound like a very amazing sister and person and a wonderful role model to everyone around you!!!! Thank you!!!!

Wow, that is very powerful. It's hard to believe that she's on 13! It brought tears to my eyes. I truly wish that everybody would view the world like that little girl does. Thank you so much for sharing that.

Don't feel bad about telling me it wasn't too bad flying with a baby. It was more me than him I think. I was so nervous about the whole thing that I made it worse for myself than it really was.

She is a very loving sister. I agree - very articulate, especially for her age.

Wow what an incredible video. Just a few hours ago my grandaughter was commenting on one of her eyes looking larger than the other (she has a mild lazy eye. I do too and I pointed it out to her and then we talked about how God loves to make "unique" in about everything. Our eyes are not the same size, our legs are not the same length, and she said "no two snoflakes are alike." It just really struck me how much attention He gives to each individual aspect of His creation. No cookie cutter designs.

I enjoyed my visit. If those are your kids in the sidebar, they are adorable. Ok they are adorable even if they're not yours but you know what I mean. ;)
