Grains of Gratitude

Today's gratitude list is all about the little things.

1. I'm grateful Joe stopped by the commissary on his way home to pick up some Cool Whip so we could make this easy Strawberry Shortcake recipe for dessert one night. Yum!

2. Kayla had a cardiologist appt on Thur. She had a coil put in almost 2 yrs ago because of a small PDA, so this was just a check up. Unfortunately Kayla wasn't very cooperative so they didn't do an EEG, or EKG, she was only able to listen to her heart with the stethoscope, but I'm grateful everything is sounding ok and the doctor didn't hear anything to cause any concern.

3. I'm grateful Joe was able to get off work to go to the appt with us; especially since they were in the middle of a phase 2 exercise.

4. I'm grateful Joe's squadron let them off a couple hours early on Friday; then when Kayla got home from school Joe took her and Lucas to the playground. It was nice to have some quiet time to myself.

5. I'm grateful Joe took Kayla to the free movie on base yesterday...and Lucas slept for a good couple hours while they were gone so I got some more quiet time to get some things done.

Kayla's been asking to go to the zoo, and since it's a nice day out (in the 80s) we're heading out for the afternoon...have a great week ahead!

You are right, it really is nice to have a quiet home to yourself once in a while.

Glad that the Drs thought all sounded well with her heart!

Michelle, I've been taking a look at your blog. Your children are beautiful. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I appreciate that you did not take offense at my post. I realize how much joy all children bring to their parents' lives and because a child is born with Down Syndrome doesn't mean we aren't celebrating her birth. It was just such a shock to everyone, especially my sister/brother in law. I am hoping to pass along your link and book to them as we all educate ourselves on DS. Thanks again.
