Grains of Gratitude and One Month

Lucas is one month old today! I already feel like that newborn stage is passing me by; guess that happens when you're in a sleep-deprived state of mind those first couple of weeks.

He's already changing though; slowly starting to lose that newborn look. Not only is he losing that newborn look, he's losing his hair! He was born with hair in the front/top and now that is the only place he's losing it. He still has it all around the sides and back...is there Rogain for babies? LOL

He's holding his head up higher and for a longer time

and all that working on neck muscles tires him out after awhile

Teasing me with the faintest hint of a smile on those lips

He can already sign the letter "C" LOL

Playing peek-a-boo

I'm still working on his birth story and I'll get that posted one of these days -before I forget all those little details!

Grains of Gratitude
I'm grateful:

1. I successfully made it out of the house on Wednesday to take Kayla to story time at the library. She really enjoyed going again. Now I hope we make it to MOPS on Tuesday! LOL

2. I was able to go to Bunco on Friday night. I pumped some milk before I left so Joe could feed Lucas. I hadn't been in a couple of months, so it was good to get out by myself.

3. I was able to get a bunch of errands done on Thursday and Friday...I'm grateful for the local businesses who are donating items for the MOPS Silent Auction fundraiser we have coming up. (Although it's not as easy to run errands having to haul that infant seat in and out at every store...gives the arms a work out though!)

4. Kayla had a great time at the base-wide Easter egg hunt yesterday, with her buddy Katelyn of course!

5. To be celebrating Easter today- He has risen!

Kayla and Lucas wishing you

a very Happy Easter!

And don't forget, if you have any questions (see post below) let me know!

Love Kayla's haircut! Her dress is adorable. Looks like she had a wonderful Easter.

Kali lost her hair as a baby like Lucas. I never knew another baby that lost their hair like that. She still looked like a boy on her first birthday.

Thanks for posting so many pictures!! In some pics he looks alot like his daddy and then the one where he has a smile on his face, he looks like your dad, Michelle... must be the lack of hair going on... :) Grandma wants to come right over and pick him up and squeeze him and kiss his little soft cheeks... Kayla looks cute in her Easter/spring time dress!!! she is beautiful., I want to kiss and hug her too.She has soft kissable cheeks !!... :).. Loved the pic of her and her friend.( a pic to have forever).. adorable ,and then the pic of Kayla and Lucas. Look at the way she is holding his hand, so gentle. A month old already...I was amazed to see how strong his neck muscles are!!! He is holding his head up high!!! Love to all four of you... Glad you had a nice Easter.... Love Grandma/Mom

I cannot believe Lucas is a month old already! Goodness. And he is so cute and has changed so much. I always laugh when they start losing their hair. They remind me of little old balding men. But he is much more handsome! And signing? I knew he was a smart one! I love Kayla's Easter dress. And her haircut too. Does she like her hair played with and brushed or would she rather you leave it alone?

You're son is such a beautiful baby!!! And, I love the pictures of Kayla in her dress - and at the easter egg hunt.
Happy Easter!

Lucas is already a charmer! Love Kayla's Easter dress, too. She looks perfectly beautiful.

I just showed my husband the video of Kayla holding Lucas when he (Lucas, not my husband. ha) started fussing. I probably shouldn't have because now he's walking around saying "I'm done" like Kayla did and laughing hysterically. I really wish our grandchildren lived closer...my husband NEEDS his grandchildren closer so that SOMEBODY will understand him. LOL

Michelle, your children are gorgeous! I love Kayla's dress and new haircut and Lucas honestly looks like an advertisement baby. I am so happy for you! I have a question from your last post that I've gone back and forth about asking, but I'm truly curious from the standpoint of support for my girlfriend. Since you WANT people to be aware, I finally decided you would understand my asking. I don't know why it has never before occured to me to ask her. I guess because she never offered like this. Is the average life expectancy the same for someone with DS? What can be done to extend it? I sure hope you know how glad I am that we met and how fun it makes it now to follow your adventures!
