A couple weeks ago I was tagged by Kei from Unlimited, and I'm finally getting to it!
I have learned from Kayla:
Not to underestimate her
She'll do things when she's ready to
The pride only a parent can know when their child reaches a milestone
Sometimes it's just better, and easier, to eat with your fingers
How fun it can be to stop and pick up leaves from the sidewalk; everyday
What I wish for Kayla's future (love and happiness are a given):
True, honest, genuine friendships
Independence - to the best of her abilities
Success - however she chooses to define that
Pride in herself and her accomplishments
Self-confidence
I won't tag anyone specifically, but please feel free to do this for your own child(ren)!

Since this is Down Syndrome Awareness Month I wanted to highlight two wonderful businesses.
The first is Simply Adorable Blankets - and you should check them out because they are, simply adorable! This is a non-profit organization created to provide opportunities for young adults with disabilities. It was started by two mothers who each have a daughter with Down syndrome. I know I'll be ordering a blanket for the baby we're expecting!
They also have another company called Creekside Cookies and More - go take a look at their yummy mixes such as Strawberry Shortcake and Pumpkin Drop Cookies!
Shelley from Life as Household 6 is giving away a $20 virtual gift card to be used at either of these businesses. I'm in! Read this post for all the information on how to enter and win.

Thanks Michelle for the award! You always make me smile when I come over here.
Your list about Kayla was so touching. It's amazing how full of dreams our hearts are when it comes to our children. Kayla is blessed to have you and Joe as her parents, and the guidance you will provide as you help her find the unique purpose God has for her life.
I have to say that it can be just more fun to eat with your fingers as well! :)

Miz Kayla would have a big time in my leaves...lol!
Great post!
Didn't you know eating with your fingers is more fun?
Loved the two things...Kayla is going to make you proud.
What a sweet list of things. Yes, eating with the fingers is sometimes easier for both mommy and the little one.
YOu are more than welcome. YOu certainly seserve this award. :)
Hope your weekend is great!
I can't think of a sweeter blogger to get such fun awards!
We just got back from our weekend away, and have bought a cute wee gift for Kayla. I will send it over as a Christmas gift, but do feel free to open it early if you like :-)
Oh and I came by to tell you I've given you the Sweet Treat award too, I didnt' notice Renee had awarded you as well. Receive a double Sweet treat :-)
Beautiful and such love from your heart!!! If we would only stop and really see our children then we would have a truly touching tribute as you have for "our little Kayla" love Mom
Awwwww! THANKS, Michelle!
You are an inspiration to me!
Thank you so much! And I LOVE candy corn (maybe I'm the only person in the world?) so I especially love the button! :)
