It's Broke!

I just got these pictures from my sister and had to share this story.

The morning we were getting ready to leave Maryland Joe and I started taking all our luggage downstairs. Kayla noticed and immediately ran to get her shoes, "Kayla shoes too!" "bye bye!" over and over. I didn't realize she was so anxious to get home, or get back in her car seat for that matter!

I think she also wanted to make sure we were not going to forget her. Last year we left her with Joe's parents and I wonder if she remembered that and wanted to make sure we weren't going to leave her behind again!

She scooted out the door with us as Joe started to load the back of the van up. I opened the side door to put some things in and she tried climbing in her car seat. By that time everyone else was on the porch. I told Kayla she couldn't get in her seat yet because we had to tell everyone bye first. She turned around, started running back to the porch, yelling "bye! bye!" At least she managed to slow down enough to give everyone a hug!

We weren't quite ready to leave yet. Joe and I headed back in the house to get a few more things and Kayla stayed outside. She went back to the van and was desperately trying to get the door open. My sister took a couple pictures. She said Kayla was trying so hard to pull on the handle, and when the door wouldn't open she declared, "it's broke!" it's this forlorn voice.

When we were finally ready to get on the road and we opened the door she yelled out "seat!" with a big smile on her face. I couldn't believe she was so ready to be sitting in that car seat again!

Even when we left Columbus the following morning...the door slid open and Kayla ran up to the side of the van with her hands in the air saying, "yay seat!"

I thought being on the road so long and being stuck in that seat she wouldn't be so anxious to get back in it, but I guess that opposite happened and she became more attached! Unless she just thought the sooner she got back in her seat the sooner we would be home!
This picture has nothing to do with this post. I took it a couple days ago and just love how her eyes are so bright blue and they just "pop" out at you.

What a beautiful girl! Great story - she loves her home doesn't she! My kids were the opposite- quite opposed to having to sit in their seats again after we were finally home from our looong car trip.

She's so precious! I love her big blue eyes. Mine can take or leave the carseats, but thankfully are pretty good travelers. That's a good thing since we are about to head out for a two week road trip!

Yeah, I noticed the new pics in the sidebar last night. I love them. She is too funny trying to open the door to the van! She almost looks like she's hanging from the handle in the second pic... Adorable!

Yes, there are her gorgeous blue eyes and then there are those adorable pig tails! That last picture was so cute! I like the story too, about getting in the car. My kids start clinging when it's time to go too (from anywhere we are). I think it's just in case we get ideas about leaving them!

I love that story. Kayla was asking to come home yesterday from the resort and we were only there 4 days. I can't imagine 3 weeks. Good thing we planned on doing day trips near home the rest of this week. But today she was asking for the ball pit that was at the resort. Go figure! I love the pics of her pulling on the doors.

Her eyes in that picture are amazing. That shirt really brings them out.

Oh, she is too cute--and those big blueberry eyes... Thank you for your prayers for A. He seems much better tonight after starting antibiotics this afternoon. We are so glad. Yes, it was too cool that my sis was there--wish we would have known.

Love the story! Kayla is such a beautiful little girl! I sure hope Olyvia will be like that.

Within the last couple of weeks, she has started throwing a mini-tantrum everytime I put her in her car seat. She used to get soo excited about car rides. I'm sure it's just a phase. lol
