Slow Cooker Thursday

Honey-Mulled Apple Cider
Sweeten this warm drink with honey or brown sugar. Cinnamon sticks make handy, and tasty, stirrers.

6 inches stick cinnamon, broken
1 tsp whole allspice
1 tsp whole cloves
10 cups pasteurized apple cider or apple juice (2.5 quarts)
1/3 c honey or packed light brown sugar

Place broken cinnamon sticks, allspice, and cloves in center of cheesecloth. Bring corners together and tie with kitchen string. In slow cooker combine spice bag, apple cider/juice and honey or brown sugar.

Cook on low-heat for 5-6 hrs on high-heat for 2.5-3 hrs.

If you have some slow cooker recipes you'd like to share, post the recipe on your blog then visit Sandra of Diary of a SAHM and leave your name and blog address on the Mr. Linky she has set up so others can see your recipe too!
