Slow Cooker Thursday

Sausage-Corn Chowder
(Ladle this delicious soup into bowls and serve with a loaf of crusty bread, or serve small portions in cups with a sandwich or salad.)

1 pound cooked smoked turkey sausage, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2-inch slices
3 C frozen loose-pack diced hash browns with onion and peppers
2 medium carrots, coarsely chopped
1 15 to 16 1/2-ounce can cream-style corn
1 10 3/4 ounce can condensed golden mushroom soup (or if you're like me I would probably use cream of broccoli or celery)

Place sausage, potatoes, and carrots in slow cooker. In a medium bowl combine 2 1/2 C water, corn, and soup. Add to cooker.

Cook on low-heat setting for 8-10 hrs or high-heat for 4-5 hours. If desired sprinkle with snipped fresh chives or parsley.

Oh man gals, thanks for the links for slow cooker meals ... my favorite type of dinner. I tried the Marie Calendar's (frozen) crockpot meal last night ... it was not worth the money (yuck) ... this soup sounds easy. Thanks, Michelle, for visiting and leaving your kind remarks on my blog about my little Nathan. Hope you have a lovely day.
