Grains of Gratitude

Well last week seemed full of holiday parties and gift exchanges! So on to the things I'm grateful for:

1. The first one of the week was my MOPS table got together for a holiday potluck and gift exchange (such yummy food!) I walked away with this sign - isn't it great?! We have such a fun group of ladies at MOPS!

2. My spouse's group from the base had an ornament exchange after our meeting and I got this cute snowman which lights up (I still need to get a battery for it though!)

3. Joe's squadron had their holiday party on Thur. It was held at the O'Club. His squadron and another squadron trade off babysitting for their holiday parties. So the kids were all in a room across the hall (from where the adult party was) with volunteers from the other squadron. I'm grateful they provide this service so we didn't have to find babysitting and that the kids were in the same building. It was a fun night! The best part for Joe was at the end - there were desserts left over so we got to take a full pumpkin pie AND an unopened bottle of whip cream home!

4. Joe's squadron is having their children's holiday party this afternoon. I'm grateful they put something on for the kids to enjoy too! Kayla wasn't too keen on sitting on Santa's lap last year and I'm thinking she won't want to this year either, but we'll give it a try! If not they still have crafts for the kids and other fun things so I think she'll still enjoy herself!

5. Friday night the MOPS leadership had a "Mom's Night Out" where we provided babysitting for the mom's that wanted to go out on a date with their hubby's, go out with friends, catch a movie, go shopping, have dinner - whatever they wanted! I'm grateful I survived the 4 hrs spent in the room with the 2 and under age group! There were 2 other ladies in the room with me thank goodness! The mom's really appreciated the time without their kids so it was well worth it!

Thanks to
Christine for starting Sunday's Grains of Gratitude!

Sounds like you had a great week. I love the little snowman. I must admit that when I was Kayla's age I felt the same way about Santa. I have this 5x7 picture of myself on Santa's lap with an expression that looks like I don't know whether to cry or scream in fear. I got over it though. I love Santa now:)
You were very sweet to babysit for the other Moms. I can remember how special a night out without the kids was (and rare).
Have a wonderful sunday.

You had such a busy week but it was all fun stuff so I'm sure you didn't mind:-) I think it's wonderful the way the base puts on all kinds of events for the families to enjoy!! Hopefully Kayla got her picture taken with Santa, that would be so precious! A lot of children, though, don't like sitting on his knee! lol
