Slow Cooker Thursday
Since this is the season when there are a lot of parties and get-togethers to attend, here is an appetizer recipe.
Asiago Cheese Dip
Keep this party-perfect dip warm in a slow cooker for up to two hours after cooking. Stir just before serving.
1 C chicken broth or water
4 ounces dried tomatoes (not oil-packed)
4 8-ounce cartons sour cream
1 1/4 C mayonnaise
4 ounces cream cheese, cut up
1 C sliced fresh mushrooms
1 C thinly sliced green onions
6 ounces shredded Asiago cheese (1 1/2 C)
Thinly sliced green onions
Toasted baguette slices
1. In a medium saucepan bring the chicken broth or water to boiling. Remove from heat and add the dried tomatoes. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Drain, discard the liquid and chop the tomatoes (about 1 1/4 C)
2. Meanwhile, in a slow cooker combine the rest of the ingredients. Stir in the chopped tomatoes. Cook on low-heat setting for 3-4 hrs or on high-heat setting for 1 1/2-2 hours. Stir before serving and sprinkle with additional green onions. Keep warm on low-heat setting for 1-2 hrs. Serve warm with toasted baguette slices.

Oh wow, this sounds simply divine!
I've never heard of Asiago cheese, will have to look for it! Do you think it can be replaced by another type of cheese if I can't get that one here? Certainly sounds yummy and dips are great around the holidays!!
Hmm. Looks perfect.
BTW, great school picture of Kayla. Don't worry about her not smiling. It's still a great image.
A photographer once took a picture of my 3-year old, when he was still in daycare. He was looking at the camera, smiling, perfect pose and a booger in his nose.
