Treasure Tuesday

Before I begin today's treasure I wanted to give an update to last week's treasure about my sister. On Friday two of the fire stations had their annual banquet. There are 6 rookies in my sister's station. Kelly won Rookie of the Year!! What an accomplishment! We're so proud of you Kelly - congratulations!

Ok on with today's treasure:

These 2 impressions of Kayla's foot and hand are my treasure. It's a moment captured in time when she was small - they grow up so fast - and I'm really glad we have these. I think the hand print was done when she was closer to a year old, but the foot was when she was still just a baby. It reminds me of a time when she was just so little and I could hold her in my arms and she would actually stay there. She wouldn't squirm to get down; she was just content.

I LOVE footprints and handprints! I couldn't get enough of them.
Here's a great craft and present for anyone on your gift list. Buy a blank t-shirt, get some fabric paint and have Kayla print her hands all over it. It's really fun and sweet and the recipient will love it!! I did this several times with Aaron's baby feet and hands and it was so much fun!

I love these impressions! We meant to do this for Snuggle Bug when he was a newborn but just never got to it. I suppose it's not too late, right?

Thanks so much for your comment on my Older Parent (revealing my age) post! I hope you're right about being able to connect to parents of all ages because we have parenthood in common. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

firstborn - Thanks for stopping by!

Laura - Thanks for the idea for the tshirt! I bet Kayla would have fun doing that - she likes to try and "trace" her hand (and mine) on paper!

OW - No it's never too late! And you have those hand prints that you made for Father's Day too!

Oh how sweet! That is a very precious memory and treasure indeed! I never did that with Isabella - we tried just to do one with ink when she was 4 months old and she just kept scrunching up her feet - she is SO ticklish, even then. Maybe I can do one with Amelia - I'll have to do it before I forget. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations to Kelly! Holy Cow!! Rookie of the year is freakin' awesome!!
I love the little hand/foot prints. So cute. I still think of her as the cute little 7 year old on my trampoline sometimes. Where did the time go??

Deanna - We had a few do-overs do, but thank goodness we could just roll the clay flat and try again! It was hard to get her foot print as she would scrunch up her toes too!

Nisa -if you think YOU have a hard time picturing her all grown up now, what about me?! I can't believe she's going to be 17 next month - not possible!

Dori - thanks! We're all just so proud of her!

Congrats to your sister, that sounds awesome!

Those are so precious! My mother-in-law helped us with a die casting after Becca was born, she was a mere 5 lbs when we did it ... the foot and hand are so small ... I will have to take a picture of it one of these days!

Wow, such an honor and a wonderful accomplishment for your young sister.

I love the prints and I am going to try to capture my little Gbaby Ben's prints and maybe make his Mommy the t-shirt that Laura mentioned. Thanks :)

Precious treasure indeed!! That's one thing I never had done with my boys and I so regret it...I still have their first pair of baby shoes but a handprint or/and footprint would have been so much better. I've noticed they even sell the little kits now for that:-)
