Overheard

from Kayla:

While watching preseason football games, after a tackle, yelling at the TV, "okay?! okay?! okay?!" Yeah after almost every tackle, or when someone falls down, she was doing this. It'll be a long football season!

After daddy clipped the nails on each foot and hand: "ank you!" As if she was so appreciative of him clipping her nails!

Repeating after mommy, complete with the hand slap to the thigh, "ah sh*t!" and no, I don't make it a habit to say that frequently, but on the rare occassion it will slip out!

Whoops! Where'd she hear the last one? I remember my niece, at about 2 years old, walking into the room my mom and I were in. She dropped something, and, without missing a beat, said "G-d D-mnit!" and kept on going... We were absolutely hysterical.

I have a friend whos daughter cant hardly talk at all but she can pick up the curse words. When she goes to school that is all she says. She is handicapped, the teachers worked forever to get her to say 3 words, they were livid when she came in and would only say two of her moms favorite cuss words.
Kayla is so adorable you are blessed to have that baby.

LOL I taught Aviva touchdown when she could talk and we heard that all through football season.

Do not worry, a while ago Aviva dropped something and I hear oh sh*t. I looked at her and she goes oh shoot. LOL!

HUGS!

I agree with Kayla's Grandma Barb!!!! :) I know we should not laugh when our children repeat those few choice words, but it is so funny coming out of their little voices and then we realize we do have to watch what we say and do around our little ones.. :) Love Mom

HA! ROFLMAO!!! Sophia has picked up my backseat driving mouth, which has been quite reformed since her birth, but nasty nonetheless. "Come on, buddy! Let's MOVE!"

Ah, I had my asking me why I said a certain four letter word at a passing motorist. Although I was shocked, I had to hold back the laughter.

Cheers,

These are too funny! Snuggle Bug is doing the same thing, repeating whatever he hears around us.

Thankfully, he's only repeated "crap" so far. We're trying really hard to keep our language clean, but as you said, sometimes it just slips out.

As a joke, someone in our family gave my Father-in-law a sponge that is painted like a brick to throw at the tv rather than use the potty mouth stuff. It shocks the daylights out of you the first time he throws it. hehe
Go Bucs!

That is funny! Bookie taught my 3 year old niece some not so nice words in Swedish, the problem was that Bookie did not know the "strength" of the particular phrase...
And great that Kayla likes the school so much!

I LOVE preseason football. Keeps hubby so busy he doesn't even notice I'm in here - again - blogging.

And Krissy blurted something a LOT worse than that out, loud as she could, at her second birthday party. The kitten she got for her bd wouldn't stay in the little basket on her trike. I swear, my mil's hair turned green when she heard her little angel of a granddaughter say that word. Chewed my husband out for the language Kris was learning from him. Rob very quietly said, "Mom, she didn't learn it from me."

Never never never said that word again. Mortified. I was completely mortified and hung my head in total shame.
