For Your Viewing Pleasure!

One of Kayla's favorite songs from the Signing Time DVDs is called "My Day!" She loves singing and signing it and I captured her last night. I won't admit to how many times I've watched these since last night! Especially the first one...I just love how she is singing so loud and with gusto - and I especially love the way she is singing "everybody".

For those who don't have the Signing Time DVDs here are the lyrics: (and if it's up loud enough you can hear Rachel singing in the background.)

Chorus: "Hey! I'm awake and I'm ready to start my day. (repeat) Good morning everybody, everybody, everybody, I'm awake! (repeat)." Kayla started singing this as soon as the music started, but before Rachel actually started singing it so you'll hear her do the first part a few times in the beginning. These are the words Kayla is signing while singing it - "awake" (I don't know why she does it at her neck instead of by her eyes though!), "day" and "everybody"

"I brush my hair, I comb my hair cause sleepy hair is silly hair. I brush my hair, I comb my hair every day!" (Kayla is signing brush and comb hair) When she opens her mouth and looks at the camera and again at the end when she covers her mouth like she's laughing she is copying 2 kids on the video)

And the last part of the song, "I brush my teeth, I floss my teeth, cause sleepy teeth are not so sweet. I brush my teeth, I floss my teeth every day!" She's signing brush teeth and usually does floss teeth too, but didn't this time.

These videos are just way too cute! She IS a good little singer! :)

Are you already flossing Kayla's teeth? We brush Snuggle Bug's teeth and have taught him to brush on his own, although he's not very good about getting his back teeth so we have to help, but we haven't even attempted flossing yet!

Michelle, thanks for your comment on my How do you cope when a child goes down the wrong path in life? post.

I know you're right. As parents, there's only so much we can do. Once our children become old enough to think independently and know right from wrong, then we've lost control of their actions, no matter how much we'd like to think otherwise. It's a scary thing.

That is adorable. I love these videos. She's so animated. She looks like she's having a blast. She's really into the DVD. I liked the part in the last video where she made eye contact with the camera for a second- she looks gorgeous.

Great footage. I might have to purchase the videos. Do you find that the signing video helps Kayla with her speach?

How cute is that?!? I can't wait for E to get to be that stage! Her singing consists of opening her mouth and humming, mouthing the words! It's cute!

As for the Signing Times songs, I'll pay anyone who can get the Pizza song out of my head!

"I like crackers on my pizza, I'd like cracker pizza please...."

Wow, the girls and I huddled around these video clips tonight...and as I glanced back I noticed both of the older ones crying, while Miss E sat on my lap dancing.

They weren't sad, they were just so excited to see Kayla in action, we watched every clip several times.

The girls are so impressed with Kayla's communication skills--and so am I. Wow, these are great Michelle!!!
