Lucas was trying to tell knock-knock jokes to us last night. Except he doesn't quite know how yet. So he kept going, "knock knock? who's there?" Before giving us a chance to answer, "Who's there?"
So we told him the 'boo. boo who? don't cry it's only me.' joke and he seemed to enjoy that one as he kept trying to tell it over and over.
Next we tried teaching him this one:
Me: Knock knock
Joe: Who's there?
Me: Banana
Joe: Banana who?
(repeat 3 or 4 times)
Me: Knock knock
Joe: Who's there?
Me: Orange
Joe: Orange who?
Me: Aren't you glad I didn't say banana again?
And then Joe and I started laughing. And Kayla started laughing because we were.
Lucas was looking back and forth between us. Then in all seriousness he said, "What is so funny about that?"

i can just see Lucas saying that he didnt think that was funny. he is a hoot. love memaw
when my sister and I were younger I tried to teach her knock knock jokes. I think she confused it with "why did the chicken cross the road?", resulting in the following exchange (which to this day, for some unknown reason, cracks us both up):
Missy: knock knock
Me: who's there
Missy: chicken
Me: chicken who?
Missy: chicken leg leg
laughter and giggling ensues
