Kayla's Modeling Gig

Last year the National Military Family Association put out a call for kids to participate in a photo shoot with their their active duty-parent. The photographs were for a new Toolkit About Military Kids. The toolkit is from the perspective of elementary school-age military children 6 to 11 years old and is second toolkit in the series (the first being the Toolkit About Military Teens). This publication is meant to be given to the people in military kids’ lives—teachers, school counselors, coaches, community leaders, religious leaders, neighbors, family friends, or relatives—a way to help them manage stress and affirm the positive aspects of military life.

We were fortunate to be living in MD last year so it was easy for us to get to Alexandria, VA for the photo shoot; and Joe was able to get to MD as well; he was back from his deployment by then, but had just relocated to SC.

The photographer captured this photo of Kayla waiting for Joe to get his pictures taken.

Here are some outtakes from the photo shoot:

Tomorrow I'll share what the finished product looks like...
