A Home for the Holidays

Although I haven't personally been affected by adoption, I know numerous families who have been blessed to adopt; and children who are blessed to have a family through adoption. The orphans on Reece's Rainbow are on my mind a lot. For now I donate to their funds and pray that their forever families find them.

Closer to home (in the U.S.) there are over 114,000 children in foster care waiting to be adopted. Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's, was adopted. He established the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. (DTFA).

The 12th Annual A Home for the Holidays, in association with the DTFA, and the Children's Action Network, is an entertainment special celebrating the joys of adoption. It airs tomorrow, Dec 22, on CBS from 8-9pm.The special includes performances by Katy Perry, Nelly, Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5, and Ricky Martin. The performances will center around touching and inspirational stories from families about their foster care adoptions.
