Ultimate Blog Party '10

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party from 5 Minutes for Mom!

A little about my family...

We're an Air Force family and we just completed/survived the one-year-to-Afghanistan-deployment.

When my husband deployed the kids and I moved back to MD to stay with family. Joe is back, but he's in NM where he's currently still assigned. We'll be moving to SC this summer after our daughter finishes school. So when all is said and done it'll be a year and a half before we're all back together ... the kids are definitely missing their daddy!

The kids - I have two of those.

Kayla is my first born and she'll be 7 this July. She has an extra chromosome...#21 = Trisomy 21 = Down syndrome. Last year she was diagnosed with Celiac disease so we've been learning all about the gluten-free diet!

Lucas turned 2 in Feb, but most days he thinks he's 12 and can do everything by himself. He tries to keep up with whatever his big sister is doing.

As for me - I resigned from my job after Kayla was born and became a Discovery Toys consultant. I like to scrapbook, read, take photographs, blog, follow the Red Sox ... yada yada yada...

Now that I've finally got my party post up it's time to go blog hopping!

Oh, prizes! There are a ton of wonderful prizes you can win over at the Ultimate Blog Party! Here are my top 3 choices:

39 - A 2-night stay at any Hilton Garden Inn
104 – Shoot Me Now is giving away one $50 Visa Vanilla Gift Card
112 – $50 Amazon Gift card

Thank you for your sacrifices so that the rest of us can live in peace-I can't imagine sending my Hubs off to war, or being without him for a year and a half. You are both amazing!

Feel free to pop by Notes From the Cookie Jar any time, I'd love to have you there. Not many of my recipes are gluten free but perhaps you can give me pointers! :)

Hi! I loved your post and your blog looks great! :) I will definitely be following. I'd love to hear more about the gluten-free diet. My 6mo old had a high nuchal thickness when he was in the womb so, they thought he had a chromosomal issue. All tests came back negative for anything, but he has had several issues since and dr's are stumped so far. Right now his head is measuring much bigger than it should be, I am pretty sure he has a sensory disorder, and he seems very sensitive to foods. I think we may have to do the special diet as well. Anywho- that's my boy in a nutshell. lol! Check out my blog if you ever get a chance! Your little ones are absolutely adorable!
