Speech

RK is doing a little personal research on speech and asked to see videos of kids talking - just chatting about their day or whatever.

This first video I took a few months ago. I usually end up asking Kayla a lot of yes or no questions when I'm filming her and this day I tried to keep my mouth shut and just sit back and let her talk. Kayla still doesn't use a lot of 'filler' words in her sentences and we're trying to expand the length of the sentences. Near the end of the video she wants the camera and she'll just say what she wants (camera please), but when I make her slow down and start with "I" she uses more of her words.

This video was after school last week...I try asking her every day about school and how it went; I ask her what she had for lunch (even though she brings lunch so I know what it is) to help reinforce those memory skills. Yes I was quite surprised at what she shared with me about lunch that day. I have parent-teacher conference today and I will be asking what that was all about!

She is too adorable! Poor naughty thing, eating that ham sandwich. ;-)

Should be an interesting conference.

I think her speech is very good.

She has the sweetest voice ever, I could watch her all day. My favorite is still her train saying, "doors closing"

I just loved to see this! Seriously, I literally felt like I was watching Kaia. Her mannerisms are the same, the things she says are the same, and the way she says them are the same. So fascinating! LOL! I've been meaning to get a video up of Kaia for a long time, just haven't got around to doing one. Gotta get on that!

Her speech is wonderful! I so hope Addy becomes verbal! My fear is that she won't and everyone will wonder why the speech pathologists kid is nonverbal!

Excellent speech! If she's anything like Kayli she was at the naughty table for Not listening about coming in at recess! I've been meaning to make a vid too. Kayli still, altho she is better, has trouble with the W's (who what where when) and she tells terribly long and convoluted stories that have everything but the kitchen sink thrown in at times!

What a sweetie!
It's so astonishing to think how much has changed since I've started reading your blog - you have a whole new kid, and the rest of our kids are so much older - it's so fun to watch them grow up.

I love the videos, it makes me feel like I have physically met your children. Now, I guess we need some videos of you and Joe, then I will have "met" the entire family. Thanks again for Faith's "write from the heart" book, she has really enjoyed it. I love that it has fill in the blank pages, she can come up with some interesting stuff for those. We'll be putting a few of those letters in Josh's box this week. Kayla is adorable, I love her lunch story...you'll have to let us all know why she was at the naughty table....can't wait to find out!
