Kayla - Just Another Special K

If you read Renee's blog then you'll understand the title of my post; if you're not familiar with her blog it's titled Life With My Special Ks. Renee and her husband, Frank, have 4 kids and all their names start with K (and they are adopting a girl whom they have already given a "K" name to) s0 - Kayla fits right in with their family! (Except her name isn't 7 letters, but we'll let that slide.)

Renee's husband is in the Army and next year he'll be leaving for his 4th (ugh!) deployment to Afghanistan.

Their daughter, Kennedy, is 10 months younger than Kayla and also has Down syndrome. So we have a bit in common and when I heard they were going to be in DC this weekend I hoped it would work out that we could meet up.

As you can see, it worked out! Yesterday we met them at the National Museum of Natural History.

Keeghan, Kassidy, Kayla, and Lucas, who sadly doesn't have a "K" name :)

Kameron and Kennedy joined the group and I'm sure you can imagine how hard it was to get all 6 kids sitting together nicely and looking at the camera!

We tried though

I love the expression on Kennedy's face here - it looks like Kayla is reading a map of where we're going and Kennedy is thinking "yeah right!"

Instant friends

Kayla was so excited, she kept saying "Kennedy! Over here! I show you!"

And the mommas with the girls who brought us together!

One last picture before we had to leave

Renee it was great meeting your whole family! Have a safe trip back home!

How cool that you got together w/ The "Special K's"!!!!

We did a day trip to D.C. on Sunday. We are about 3 hours away.
My husband woke up and decided he wanted to go. Rylie wasn't interested in anything and hated all the walking(SHE wants no part of the coach).

How far are you from PA?

The Special K's are in Langhorne this weekend so they stopped here on their way to a neighborhood party. SMALL WORLD!

When I get my pics downloaded I'll post them too. Yours are better. Kennedy didn't want to smile. She is probably tired of pictures all the time. LOL. I know my kids are!

Love T
