Now that I'm living with my mom I get to play the Wii (yeah, Joe and I are probably the last people to not own one yet!) ... I hadn't really experienced it until we moved here; and I can see why everyone loves it so much! Very fun stuff!
So now my mom and I have been debating getting the Wii Fit; seems like the next sensible thing to get - especially now that the holidays are over and there are all those extra pounds to shed! Who wants to get out in this bitter cold weather and go to the gym when you can yoga and exercise in your own home?! I would think the cost of the Wii Fit would more than pay itself off when you think about the cost of monthly gym memberships.
I was browsing Game Stop and found a couple other new fitness games too like My Fitness Coach ... my own personal trainer! LOL
Game Stop is offering a “Sharpen the Mind, Shape the Body” incentive for the month of January that includes a special incentive to discover active gaming. You can stop by a local store and demo a range of titles that match your interests and skill level. I think this weekend we'll head over to a local store and try a few of these titles out.
If you have used any of these fitness games what do you think of them?

We have Wii Fit and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!
It's so much fun and you don't realize at all that you're actually working out :)
LOVE Wii Fit! Yoga, Cardio, fun balance games kids love. It's fun for the whole family.
I have the Wii Fit also and I love it! I have so much fun trying to unlock more exercises that I don't realise I am working out. My step Dad got one for Christmas too and he does 1/2 an hour every day. He's lost a bucket load of weight from that and eating a little better. :)
Trace :)
We don't have a Wii either...don't feel bad! My brother-in-law manages a game store and gets to try out all the new stuff. He likes the Wii Fit the best. They use it alot and it looks like a good thing... if we ever get one (doubt it!) I'd think it would be something we'd use.
I own them all lol, and I love the wii fit the most. My daughter and I use it allot.
We LOVE IT!!!!
We don't have a Wii Fit, yet. Whatever works for you! Barbara
We have a Wii Fit and it's awesome. It's deceiving though, because it's marketed as a workout tool but it does NOT replace a gym or a real workout. It's a game. Much better than a sit-down game, but still just a game. Great for balance, but the rest is just fun with a few extra calories burned.
You are not the only one. We don't have one yet either.
We have one and we love it. We have the standard game that came with it as well as the Jillian Micheals game. Please share if end up trying out any other games, I got a gamestop gift card and I'm itching to use it!
We have wii fit, and I do get a good workout with it. I do a step routine for 40 minutes nearly every night. I have to go faster than their example to get a good workout, but I do get a good sweat worked up. I do at least 5000 steps, which is 2.5 miles. While doing the step routine, I can switch over and watch tv; the Wiimote keeps a step rhythm, counts down the time for you (I do 2 - 20 min. sessions), and counts your steps. It's a great way to catch up on shows. Actually, I didn't watch as much TV before we got Wii fit. Now I record programs just so I have something to do while I'm stepping. With 3 kids, ages 8, 4, & 2, going to the gym isn't really an option. I usually work out right after I get them in bed.
You will love the Wii Fit! So much fun. Kali loves the step aerobics, and the tightrobe. Actually, she loves so many of them, but on the step aerobics, she grabs her sunglasses, flaps her arms and go, go and goes. Kayla would love it! The hula hoop will really make you feel like you have worked out! I just unlocked a new game on it where I am in a bubble floating down a river and am trying not to pop the bubble. Hope you get it!
the wii fit is really really really fun!
A word to the wise: Do not buy the battery chargers sold for the wii fit!! I did two weeks ago and it messed up with the computer inside the wii board. I have to send the board to nintendo and they'll fix it and all for free but still, what a hassle! Save yourselves the trouble!! Buy rechargable batteries instead.
I don't own a Wii either, but my brother just bought one for his kids for Christmas. I played it one day on and off for an hour. You wanna know what? My arm hurt the next day. Eeek!
It has been so cold here, but looking forward to a warm up!
I just posted about my personal trainer a day or two ago! I bought it on Wednesday.
I have Wii Fit and it's loads of fun. Even the kids like it. :D I need to use it more though.
I'm doing a "Taking back my closet" forum off of my site if you want to join us.
You're not the last person on earth to NOT have a Wii. We don't either and although my husband keeps pestering me to get one, I'm holding out. :)
totally get wii fit!!! i've played before and it was fun.
...plus... i wanna play again!!! ^_^
Kel
We got WiiFit, WiiSports and WiiPlay at Christmas - love it. The jogging is lots of fun in particular and the kids love it too - yay. I think you will have fun and enjoy it. xxx
I LOVE The Wii!! I got Wii fit for my last birthday and I love it. I am making my new years resolution to use it more! The Yoga is fun. The kids all love the games as well. Our family is currently hooked on Guitar hero. It sounds silly but we all love to play.
I want the Wii Fit because EVERYBODY I have talked to about it LOVES it. The hard part is finding one around here!
We got Wii fit for Christmas but sadly haven't used it much. Adam's OT just last week was saying how great it was and will be for Adam to build balance and strength, so guess we'll have to start using it :)
Wii Fit is very fun and you do get a bit of workout from it, but it does not replace the gym. Obviously, it's better then nothing.
I also think it's good for children so they can get in the habit of exercising with child-friendly exercises. Think how much easier it would be to exercise daily if we all had a short work-out routine as children.
The Wii as a whole is a fantastic system. There are so many friendly, non-offensive games.
We got a Wii for Christmas, but so far all we have is Wii Sports, Game Party, and some sort of Princess game. I really hope to get Wii Fitness some day but I just can't afford anything new right now! :(
we just got a Wii that we bartered for and do not have the Wii Fit. Heard good things about it though. Let me know how you like it if you get it.
