Grains of Gratitude

It's been a few weeks since I've done a Grains of Gratitude post...so here are the things I'm grateful for from this past week.

1. The weather has finally cooled off here. After dropping Kayla off at school I can take Lucas on a nice 1/2 hr walk and not be drenched in sweat when we get back home.

2. That MOPS has started again...we had a great first meeting and Lucas did well in the MOPPETS room. I also stepped down as finance manager and I'm grateful someone else took that over. This year I just wanted to attend MOPS as a mom and not be on Steering.

3. That Joe reenlisted - it means our family is provided for for the next four years!

4. I'm always grateful for the once-a-month "kids' club" the housing office sponsors. It means free pizza for families and crafts for the kids.

5. I signed Kayla up for the Daisy's and we had nice weather yesterday for the potluck induction ceremony. A lot of the girls are in Kayla's class too so she's having fun.

Reciting the promise:

Getting her pin

The Girl Scout handshake

6. I'm grateful for Parenting magazine's feature A Special Joy: Babies With Down Syndrome Galleries for Down syndrome Awareness month. Since they were asking for photos of babies I submitted one of my favorite photos of Kayla. They have 6 photo galleries and more will be going up soon. What a wonderful spotlight on Down syndrome from a major publication!

Those Daisy photos are just the cutest. I also really like the photo you submitted to Parents. I had no idea they were already up to 6 galleries! How cool. I'm catching up now and loving seeing all the kids. Hooray for Ds Awareness!!

Did you get your hair cut?? I like the length!

Sounds like a wonderful week - how awesome that Kayla is doing Girl Scouts! I had really wanted to put Eve into that program but we've committed to just doing school right now. It's enough, if you know what I mean. :)

Again, congratulations to Joe!

I'm going to start walking again this week; it has been way too hot here - not for me, but for the kids.

Hope this week is equally as great!

Oh, I love that she's a Daisy Girl scout! She looks so sweet reciting and getting her pin!

I wanted to say thank you, too, for the adorable Precious Moments figurine that I received a couple days ago! It's so adorable...and I was surprised by the book you put with it since I didn't remember hearing I'd get that too!
I've been reading a chapter aloud to the girls every night and they LOVE it!

I'll post about it soon!
Hugs,
~Tammy

Thanks for sharing the link to Parenting magazine, it is important the world see being special doesn't mean not being photoghenic enough or adorable enough to be featured in a magazine (beautiful baby contests drive me batty because you never see kids with special needs in them).
