If you're a long time reader of my blog you know we are big fans of Signing Time! as I've blogged about our experience and success before.
Well now Lucas is their newest fan! I don't believe it's ever too early to start learning sign language, and since Kayla still watches the videos, Lucas watches them sometimes too.
And Lucas just smiles so much when Rachel comes on saying, "Hi! I'm Rachel." Each and every time. He hears her start talking and he'll stop what he's doing to turn and look at her; then he just gets the biggest grin. He's smitten!
We also sign/say "eat" with him now and when we do that he watches our faces intently and then just smiles and smiles. Kayla likes signing "eat" to him too, so this is great to continue reinforcing the signs she already knows as well, and now she gets to teach her little brother.
I'm excitedly looking forward to the day Lucas uses his first sign too!

I didn't know about Signing Time. I will have to look into it. My son who just turned one can sign milk. That is the first one we taught him. We are working on several more now. It's exciting being able to communicate with him! From the video, you can tell Lucas really loves that!
tee hee...
Sugar always says, "you know how my favoritest girl in the whole wide world is?...Rachel!" tee hee

I had always wanted to learn to sign and took a few classes at our church but unfortunately I struggled with it. I might see if I can find some of the signing time DVDs - Maybe they can teach me too. :)
I've been thinking about teaching my youngest to sign but with him going into daycare I think it's going to be harder to do.

Wow look at him sit up and get all excited! He is such a cutie. I'm glad he is showing excitement about signing. I think that's a great skill to encourage too. And something he and Kayla will be able to share too. :)
Fantastic! We love signing time too. It's funny, Koen would do the same thing - he'd hear the music start up and come running.
Lucas is a DOLL!!!!!
We're huge Signing Times fans. Lucas is getting so big! I love his giggle.
Is he adorable or what? Lucky Rachel to have that handsome boy smiling at her!
I wish these things had been around when mine were young.
That is just so cute. Tara taught Alexys some sign language, please, thankyou, I love you... So cute! And boy, is he getting big! Wow, time flies!
He looks so happy to see Rachel! Thats so sweet. I've tried to teach Pufferfish some sign language, but my attention span is too short I guess. Now she's 14 months old and starting to say a few words. Is it too late?????? ;)

your baby Lucas is soooo precious, but we know how I feel about precious Kayla! It is such a joy to come see your babies. Please know I am praying for you as you make all the hard decisions in your upcoming move and all. I have an adopted brother in law who is a Chaplain in the Army so I know what you deal with, as a military family.
In the fall I am taking a 2 year course in asl to become profiecient in sign to use in worship. Maybe I should get the tapes that yall have lol!!!!
Blessings to you and your sweet family Michelle
Too cute! Leah has discovered Signing Times too, lol!

It will happen sooner than you think!!! Keeghan signs "more", "eat", "milk", and "all done". Is there anything more to life?! :)

I have been working on signing with my 18 month old, and she is really catching on, however, my 7 month old is still looking at me like I'm crazy :)
Hi, I'm vising. My family LOVES signing time. My 4 yr old had a speech delay and didn't talk until age 22 months, but knew over 80 signs!!!!
I got to meet Rachel Coleman at one of her events, and even got a photo with her and her autograph. I was star struck.
