Where Have We Been?

In very HOT Arizona! We arrived on Friday and will be here until this Friday...wow is it hot here! Makes it hard to actually get out and do anything unless it is indoors! I didn't think there would be much difference from the 100+ degree weather we were having in NM, but AZ has been about 10 degrees hotter at 111 degrees!

So why were we crazy enough to take a week-long vacation in AZ in June?! We own a timeshare and we had banked a week. We had 2 years to use that week and we thought it expired at the end of this calendar year, but too late we realized it actually expires at the end of July. So we scrambled to find some place to go that was within driving distance, and, well, AZ was it!

On Saturday we were able to meet up with Overwhelmed With Joy - she's been our way twice for work so we've met before. This time we were able to meet her son, Snuggle Bug, and the two little girls they are fostering right now - Baby Bug and Boo. We went to a children's museum in Phoenix and the kids all had a fun time.

Kayla serving up ice cream to Joe and Boo:

Strawberry for you daddy!

Playing in the kitchen area:

We were also able to have dinner with my cousin who is at Luke AFB for pilot training (thanks for dinner Mike!)

and we've been enjoying walking around the resort grounds: (Joe sporting his ''I'm on leave and don't have to shave" look)

and just relaxing!

I haven't had time to comment on blogs, but what do you expect when you're supposed to be on vacation! :) Maybe I'll "catch up" this weekend; although that will be short-lived as next Thur we are headed to Boston for the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention for a long weekend!

Personally, I think you're crazy to be vacationing in AZ in the hot summer months! ;)

It sure was great to see you this past Saturday. You can see the picture I took that day in the family update that I sent you.

I can't wait to see you guys again on Friday, if that's still the plan. :)

Snuggle Bug keeps talking about Kayla. He wants to see her again!

That sounds really HOT! Are you really going to the Boston Conference? Good for You! I can't always do those kind of things- too much schmoozzing and no one I know. I get overwhelmed and it's expensive! But I'm in New England so wave hello!

Wow! that place looks like a lot of fun. Lucas in the ring well, he's getting way to big. Sounds like a busy but fun summer. Just think you'll be heading to cooler weather at the convention! Have a great time!

I know it's hot in New Mexico but even we New Mexicans say it's hot in Arizona! ;)

I'm glad you all could get away for a week. Looks like you had a splendid time even with the heat pressing down on us all. You missed some exciting thunder storm cells but that was about it. As usually up here in the valley the weather prediction is for wind and more thunder storms. Hope your 4th is more successful.

I'm glad that you were able to meet up with my son, your cousin, who is in F-16 training at Luke. What a good pic you have of him and you with your two wonderful, beautiful children. Yea, Mike says it is hot there. His dad went thru F-4 training at Luke over 30 years ago and he remembers how hot it can be. Love, Aunt Debbie

I haven't been by your site in a while and am happy to see that everybody is doing well. Lucas is four months old already! Wow ...
Kayla is such a great cheerleader! I'm sure you will post about the upcoming DS convention. I've not been able to attend EVER. Our son does not do well at big events. You are very fortunate that Kayla and Lucas are 'portable' :)
