A Summer Affair - Mother Talk Blog Tour

I love to read, I love to get lost in a good book, and I especially like finding new authors to read. It's been awhile since I've read a book just for me - to unwind, to get away from it all, to have "me time" - so I was looking forward to diving in to A Summer Affair by Elin Hilderbrand.

Claire is a typical SAHM with 4 kids. She gave up her career as a glassblower after the premature birth of her 4th child. She likes to please everyone, is non-confrontational, and can't say no - she takes on more than she can handle. She's been asked to co-chair a summer gala event which leads to the affair.

A Summer Affair sucked me in right from the beginning; I like a book that can grab you in the first few pages, instead of reading through chapters before you feel pulled in to the storyline.

I really like Elin Hilderbrand's style of writing - easy to read, easy to get caught up in the lives of the characters - you feel like any one of them could be your own neighbor.

Unfortunately I can't read on an airplane (motion sickness!) so I'll have to wait until I get back from Boston to find out how Claire gets herself out of this mess she created; but this is definitely a book I'm enjoying!

This book didn't disappoint my guilty pleasure of reading for fun. I haven't read any of Elin Hilderbrand's books before, but I'm sure going to the library to check them out!

If you want a sneak peak you can read an excerpt.

Thanks Mother Talk for a fun summer read!

Michelle, this sounds like a great book. I'm also doing a review for Mother Talk LOL

Hope you're having fun in Boston and like you, I can't read on the plane either, it makes me really sick and gives me a bad headache.

Hugs,
Sandra

So, you're in Boston and I'm in CA. Whew! Hard to believe we connected not long ago. :)

What are you in Boston for again? I'm here in CA for work for the next 2 weeks.

By the way, the book sounds great! Care to share it in my July Pay It Forward Book Exchange when you're done? :)
