My stomach was in knots this morning. I was tense and nervous and counting down the minutes.
Before Joe left for work he told me, "I'll call you if I made it and I won't if I don't."
What were we so anxiously waiting for?
The Air Force released promotion results at precisely 0800 CST ... and I tried to keep myself busy until then, but time seemed to be passing sooooo slowly.
But they've changed the way they release the results and they now just throw it out there on the AFPC site for everyone to see at once, instead of sending the lists to commanders to trickle down to the units. You think I was going to sit there and wait for his phone call? Heck no! I was on the AFPC site so I could look too :)
At 0800 when I refreshed the page and clicked on results there were thousands of other people trying to find out too...which made for a very slow download.
While it was downloading the phone rang. Joe said, "Well I'm calling you!"
Yay!! Joe made MSgt!
Last year he missed it by 4 points, so we were really hoping he would make it this year. And he was really hoping he made it this year so he wouldn't have to go through another testing cycle with me nagging him about studying!
I told him, "My stomach can finally relax now!"
Congratulations honey! We're proud of you and we love you! (Now run over to the housing office and tell them you have a line number and we want to be put on the list for a new house!)

CONGRATULATIONS, JOE!!! My son, Nicholas, made TECH! (This is a totally awesome promotion cycle, isn't it?? lol) Nick called me at about 8:00 a.m. my time (it was nighttime for him in Okinawa) with the news. Scared me to death when I saw his number on the caller I.D. - he never calls in the morning. He'd been on the computer as soon as they posted the results, too. Then his commander called to congratulate him while we were on the phone. I'm STILL smiling from our proud I am of him. And I'm thrilled silly for you and Joe, too. Please be sure to tell him congratulations from me and Randey (yes, Randey - my husband - actually said "oh wow - good job!" when I told him. :)
