Grains of Gratitude

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there!

Would you like another free 8x10? Snapfish is giving away a free 8x10 today only. Use coupon code HIMOM (doesn't include shipping, but still a 2.99 value).

So much to be grateful for from last week:

1. This morning Joe made strawberry cheesecake french toast (Thanks Sandra, they were yummy!)

2. Last night Lucas woke up at 4, nursed, and went right back to sleep (the night before it took over an hour for him to settle back to sleep). Then he slept until 930 this morning - that was nice!

3. The base privatized housing company held a spouse appreciation luncheon on Friday (It was Military Spouse Appreciation Day). The buffet was nice with chicken, sandwich, fruit, veggie, and cheese trays.

4. Our MOPS group held their annual "Mops and Pops Dinner." It was nice to get dressed up and have dinner out without the kids (well except for Lucas who went with us). Kayla was excited to go to the MOPPETS room to play that night.

5. Yesterday the housing office sponsored an event in conjunction with Home Depot. They had free lunch, giveaways, activities for the kids (planting seeds), and free flowers for the residents to take home. They ended up having so many free flowers that by the end they were giving trays away. This is what I took home:

Too bad I don't have a green thumb - at all! I know these have to be replanted but I have no idea how to do all that and make sure they don't all die off! But I'm going to try and will enjoy these while they last!

6. I'm grateful for the kindness of other bloggers! I received the book I won from Nancy and can't wait to start reading it.

I received some Babylegs from Braska and her mommy "just because" - thank you so much! I still have to take a picture of Lucas wearing them.

I also received the taggy ball I won from Erin. Not only did she send that, but she sent "a little something" for Kayla too. Look what she made for Kayla:

A personalized tote bag! Didn't she do a great job on it? It was so nice of her to include Kayla when the drawing was just for the taggy ball! This will be perfect to take to the library.

Thank you Erin! You should check out her Tag! You're It store and see the cute stuff she makes.

~~~~
Chris passed this on to me...thank you Chris! I'd like to pass it on to Cheri, Noel, Beth, Julie, and Karen.
Michelle, just find a spot in your yard that gets some sun, some shade. The hole you dig for each flower should just be a little bigger than the potting soil they are in now, fill in around the plant with the dirt you dug out of the hole. Place each flower about 6 to 8 inches apart and they should grow with no problems. Oh, please be sure to water them a couple of times a week :-)
Happy Mother's Day my wonderful DIL
Thanks for the pictures and for updating us on your Mother's Day weekend. What a fun time!
Before I forget, with regards to the flowers you are about to plant, try using "Osmocote" when you plant them. It's a 3 month feeding for plants. Simply place the plant food in the hole before you plant each plant and then sprinkle some on the top of the soil after you are done. This will feed your plants for you for 3 months and it's a tremendous help.
Little Kayla is a doll and she looks like she loves her new tote!
Have a great week.
Nancy
Wow, strawberry cheesecake french toast sounds absolutely wonderful. Joe's breakfast meals always sound really amazing.
The Home Depot event sounds like a great success. Even if you don't have a super green thumb you can always buy a pot and some soil and just plant them in there. My thumbs not very green either but I've taken the easy way out and it seems to have worked well. :)
Happy mother's to you too!
What a great day! I, too, have a black thumb...good luck with your flowers--they sure look pretty for now! LOL. Yeah, Lucas for giving you more sleep, hopefully he'll do it again! I can't wait to see the baby legs.
Kayla's bag is too cute. I'm sure she will love it. Glad you had fun at your dinner too. Aren't nights out just heavenly?
