and another trip down memory lane!
Yesterday my MOPS group met at the local pumpkin patch. Most of the schools and day care centers have field trips there. They also have clowns perform magic tricks and read a story.
The first time Kayla went to this pumpkin patch was the first day she started with her ECI classroom (the therapists started coming to our house when she was about a month old; when they kids are 15 months they go one day a week to the classroom).
A few weeks before she started going to the ECI class she had started taking steps and doing some tentative walking; however she only seemed comfortable walking in our living room and then would crawl everywhere else. It was like she thought the only place she could walk was our living room! I learned about all the different aspects of walking - walking on carpet, hardwood, from carpet to hardwood, with & without socks, with & without shoes, on grass etc.
When we arrived at the pumpkin patch there was no stopping Kayla. I was amazed to see her taking steps all over the place when previously she only did that in the living room. I remember how excited I was and I couldn't wait to tell her PT! Oh the memories of those milestones!
I guess the pumpkins were a good motivator! (It might be kind of hard to see, but if you're really observant that is a Red Sox jacket she's wearing - and they won the World Series that year! hmmm....)
Then we went the following year, again with her ECI class, when she was 2...
We didn't make it last year, but here we are this year...
She was a helper during the magic show...pulled a fried egg out of the hat...
Put it back in the hat, said the magic words, and reached in the hat again...
A regular egg!
She was pretending this was an ice cream cone!
She leaned over to give the scarecrow a hug
and the head fell over. I wish you could have seen the look of shock on her face! Then she said, "I sorry!"
She kept trying to fix it and the head would fall forward again and each time she would say, "oops!"
The perfect sized pumpkin!
and my perfect pumpkin!

Looks like a wonderful day! I love the pictures, she looks like she had a really fun time. Eve would've freaked about the clown - they are on her black list :)

I do feel we miss out on all the Pumpkin stuff here in NZ and the UK - that part really appeals to me. I had my first taste of Pumpkin Pie when I lived in England on a base with some Americans - soooo tasty.
How adorable! Thanks for sharing your trip down memory lane. It is so great to see her pics through the years! Have a wonderful weekend.
