Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I still can't believe she's 4! :)
Here are some pictures from our two-day celebration! On Saturday we had the joint birthday party with Katelyn (who turns 2 on July 21st). Katelyn's grandmother was in town and volunteered to make the cake. Jennifer and I said, "go right ahead!" She took the butterfly cake idea and expounded on it and created her own. I think it came out great! The antennas were two thin tubes (cut from lollipops) with a grape stuck on each end. I'm so glad she made this as it was one less thing for us to worry about!
The cake was a double-decker cake and I wasn't sure if Kayla could reach to blow out her candle so I'm trying to lift her up a little, she managed to blow it out just fine!
"look ma, no hands!" Why she decided to reach down and take a bite instead of picking it up I'll never know!
The two birthday girls getting ready to open their presents.
I'll spare you and just post one picture of the present-opening, because really, they're almost all the same!
Since her actual birthday was on Sunday we did a small celebration with her at home. I didn't bring any of our gifts to the party on Sat, instead saving them for her to open on Sun.
She made almost this same facial expression for each gift she opened (and did this at the party too.) It was "oooooh!" she was so excited for whatever she pulled out of the bag! The hat she brought home at the end of the school year and could finally wear it!
The big hit was this set of Disney Princess dress-up costumes. (Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle.) She has been really into Cinderella lately, wanting to watch it every day! So I thought she might have fun with the dress-up set. She's pointing to Cinderella and saying "arella!" and I guess I caught her on the 'ah' part!
She had to try Cinderella on right away; and she wore this almost all day yesterday and we had to convince her to take it off for dinner!
and then trying on Snow White. She's telling me, "ust (just) one more, mommy, one more" (one more picture that is!)
And then having some leftover cake, which we had to sing Happy Birthday again!
She loves to sing the happy birthday song - even when it's for her! On Sat I would ask her how old she was and she would say "3" then I would respond, "nooooo" and she would say, "four!" It only took a few times of me saying "noooo" and then she would catch herself as she started saying 3 and change it to 4. Now she answers that question "4!" like it's old news!
I have no idea why this video is so large...I just copied the code like I've done when I posted videos before. I wonder if it's because of the new blogger template?

What an awesome video!! So sweet how she says 4. I am really enjoying Eve being 4, it's a great stage. The cake was beautiful, and score that you didn't have to worry about making it! That's the way to go :) Glad the parties were fun, the pictures were great! I know that you will enjoy all that comes along with having a 4 year old girl. It's a beautiful time!

Great pictures! That video is too cute!!!
Love the birthday song and the one-more-picture photo. My 2-year old eats cupcakes the way Kayla does, too.
"Why is he eating that way?" I asked my 4-year old.
"So he could have a beard like you," he said.

It looks like she had so much fun! The cake is Huge and yummy looking!
:)
Adorable pictures! Looks and sounds like she had a great time.
As for the video, One True Media now offers 3 sizes of videos to post. Somewhere along the line it asks you what size, and I think it's medium that fits well in Blogger. It auto defaults to large. I think you'll find the option somewhere after you click on the button to get the codes to share.
Hope that helps.
Awwww, so cute! I'm trying to get ready for Brenna's party on Saturday. A family BBQ, just like last year. It's funny, her one request for a party was to have cousins over to play. Okay then. Maybe next year we'll try a destination party (zoo?) but it's always so stinkin' hot! Love the pics, thanks for sharing. These girls are growing up fast!
Happy Birthday, Kayla! Looks like a very fun birthday party! Love the cake!

You did a great job on the butterfly cake. I'm still planning that for Izzy's birthday later this month.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KAYLA!!!
Thanks so much for sharing this! Looks like a wonderful birthday for Kayla and she is such a doll. Glad you all had a great time.
Gabi has those same dress up outfits, but after much use they are more like rags now. I love how Kayla sang Happy Birthday to herself, and she knew how old she was. I am impressed. Gabi was asked today how old she is and she said 5. She's 7 and will be 8 in November! Well, at least she said 5. She used to say 4 for the longest. I really love watching Kayla grow up!
What a great cake and now nice that you didn't have to make it. She looks so cute opening her gifts. My girls have the Cinderella and Snow White costumes. They love them!
Glad her party went well! It's so amazing to watch them grow up.
Sweet pictures!! I loved hearing her sing "Happy Birthday" I'll have to show Shaylee the video, she will love it!
That is an awesome birthday cake! My step daughter and I tried to make a horse head shaped cake for father's day this past year and when the ears didn't work out quite right she just got carried away with the decorating. The tongue hanging out of his mouth was a stitch.
I'm glad she had such a good time. She looks adorable in her outfits. : )
What a fun birthday party!!! I love your cake too ~ it's perfect!!! We are having a small party for Hannah with her friends this weekend and her theme is butterflys also!
Great pictures and blessings to you all!
